Hello fellow Wattpadders! Today we have meganalexandria with us, the author of the book, Once Upon A Knight.
I am Abhipreeti (_abhipreeti_) and I have interviewed Megan Alexandria, a.k.a, meganalexandria.
Megan Alexandria is a Fantasy Romance and RomCom writer known for her love of making you ask, 'How much worse can it get?' From werewolves and witches to historical, forbidden love, there's something for everyone who likes to hurt for their Happily Ever Afters.
When she's not writing, she's knee-deep in musical instruments, iced chai lattes, and her office, a.k.a. book trove.
At what age did you realize that you have a special place for writing? Are you currently or do you ever dream of one day being in the writing industry?
>>I've been writing for as long as I can remember. Both of my parents are writers to some capacity. They were journalism majors; my mother is an author, and my dad dabbled in novels as well, though he never published. It was highly encouraged in my upbringing– all art was and so I don't think I can pinpoint an exact age. I will say, though, that in my early twenties, I stopped writing screenplays and redirected my voice toward narrative writing full-time. It's been full speed ahead since.
I am in the writing industry as an indie author but also a podcaster. I interview and spotlight other writers on their journey, as well as provide the how-tos and how-don'ts to the craft in the show, social media, and with my comprehensive plotting journals line via Amazon.
Did any story, on or off Wattpad, inspire you ever and help you carve your interest towards writing books?
>>I think there are so many incredible writers out there I couldn't even begin. I spend a lot of time reading others' works here on Wattpad and interviewing authors about their work. It's hard not to be inspired by how devoted each person is to telling their story.
I wound up at Wattpad though, after following my bestie, Meredith Anne, here to read her novel. I came for the book and stayed for the community.
What is the genre(s) in which you mostly write your books? Do you think you are able to create brilliant plots when you write in that specific genre(s)?
>>My books are all Romances, meaning they promise a happily ever after– though how that looks is, I hope, unique to my voice. Some character arcs take longer to resolve depending on if they fall into a series or not. Ultimately, I write Romance for Fantasy and Rom-Coms lovers. I'm not afraid to cross genres when the story requires it, and I would say I'm very proud of my work, yes.
