Selena's P.O.V.
"Ooh girl, yo' roots is dry as fuck. What do you expect me to do with this?" Shauna asked me.
I rolled my eyes. If anybody's hair was dry as fuck it would be her's. She's constantly dying it. "Just put it in a bun. A tight high bun." I sighed. When she got done, which was like twenty minutes later, I jumped out of the chair and ran downstairs to hear my brother singing loudly and a loud crash.
"What the hell Jake?" I yelled, walking into the kitchen.
He turned around to me and grinned. "Guess who just called me? Aunt Janneilia! She's pregnant!" He announced and I looked at him with a blank face.
"Is that why you broke dad's favorite plate?"
He raised an eyebrow at me and rolled his eyes. "Who has a favorite plate? All of our plates look the same."
"Well, his favorite plate is chipped on one spot."
Jake sighed. "Oh well,"
I rolled my eyes. Jake better not run to me when dad decides to come home for five minutes again and finds out that his favorite plate that my mom almost threw at him before she died, is now gone.
"James is coming back over so, don't be an ass like you did yesterday."
Jake smirked. "James? I thought his name was Justin?"
My eyes snapped to the dish towel on the counter top and I picked it up and threw it at him. "Same thing!"
When five o'clock struck, the doorbell rang and Jake literally pushed my ass down and out of the way to rush to the door.
He opened the door dramatically, with a cheesy smile. "Well hello young man friend, how's your day?" He asked.
Justin's P.O.V.
I looked at Jake with a confused face. "Um, my day is fine... and yours?"
"It's great, perfect, amazballs with a side of meatballs. Why don't ya come on in, Justy boy." He said and literally pulled me inside. Selena ran towards me and snatched me from her brother and pulled me upstairs into her room.
"Sorry about that but, I didn't want you to be down there with my brother longer than you had to be." She laughed awkwardly.
"It's-It's fine. Your brother isn't that bad." I said even though I was deathly scared of him. Selena rolled her eyes and waved me off. "He's weird."
Selena Sat in a dark purple chair with her hands on her lap. "Now let's get to business, please take a seat." She pointed the the also purple chair across from her. I walked over to the seat and It was surprisingly comfortable. Then again, all of Selena's furniture was comfortable.
"So," She began. "Before we start this whole "Plan-To-Make-You-Popular" thing, I just want to know more about you. Y'Know, life story and all."
I shrugged. "What do you want to know?"
She sat silence for a second before a disgusted expression crossed her face. "What's up with you and those... flare shirts?"
I scoffed. "I happen to love my flare shirts."
She cracked a small smile. "Don't get me wrong, flare shirts are cool to wear every once in a while... with the right jeans and shoes but, to wear one every single day? Without matching shoes? And with the ugliest patterns? Ugh." She pretended to gag.
"So, I'm guessing my wardrobe choices are something we're going to have to work on? I chuckled.
"Most definitely." She laughed. See, this is how it should've been yesterday. Instead it was all awkward and uncomfortable. Today, everything is all smooth and funny.
"Next question."
"Okay..." She tapped her fingers against the arm rest of the chair. "Tell me about your social life downfall. Well, if you ever had a social life." She shrugged.
"Actually at one time, I did have a social life. In kindergarten, I remember having friends. In elementary school I had friends. In middle school I had lots and lots and friends. In junior high I had alot of friends too, but then once I got to high school it was like...." I trailed off. "I don't even know. Everything just changed."
Selena nodded her head. "Well, high school is pretty shitty. I mean, I know we don't necessarily have the same level of high school authority but I mean, yeah."
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "What?"
Selena shrugged. "You Know, sorry. I mean, it must be so lonely to never have anyone to talk to, or relate to. At this time and our lives we go through alot and we need someone to be there. I mean, I know we have our parents and all but they just don't get it."
I nodded my head, resisting the urge to grab her hand. "I heard being popular is really lonely too."
Selena shook her head. "No. That's just what the people who aren't popular or who we're popular but lost it all will tell you. How can you be lonely with all of these people around you? Yeah, most of them might hate me but, they pay attention to me... all the time."
"Well, thanks for making me feel like shit, Sel." I chuckled.
"Don't sweat it, in a couple months you'll be right on top next to me. Right in time for prom too." Selena smiled and nodded.
"You're so conceited." I shook my head.
Selena huffed. "Kid, this isn't some fairy tale teen fiction book. I've been on top of the school since freshman year. You expect me to act
like... a you?" She said sarcastically. I think.
"Well, you could at least act normal. I've already seen this popular queen bee side of Selena. I want to see the real side of Selena."
She sighed. "Well, you're only gonna get to see that part when I'm drunk and on my period."
She took everything as a joke. She didn't really see the reality of things. She wasn't taking my social isolation of high school seriously. I mean, Selena was gorgeous and cool and everything but after a while it honestly got a little irritating. Yes, I understood that her life was a piece of cake and she has had everything handed to her but, that didn't mean she had to shove it in my face. She doesn't know what the death of a parent feels like, she doesn't know what it's like to be on the outside. Hell, I'm on the outside of the outside.
I'm now making it my mission to find Selena Gomez. The real Selena Gomez.
