I was in one of the most peaceful sleeps that I'd ever been in when I felt the bed dip. "Selena, wake up." My brother shook me after he sat down. "Selena c'mon, you're late.", "Selena, wak-"

"Mmmm!" I moaned irritability. "Go awaaaaay."

"No, Selena, get up. It's time for school." He started snapped at me.

I buried my head deep in my pillows. "I'm not going."

"Yes you are, I promised dad that--"

"Dad promised us alot of things too, remember? Plus it's Friday." I sat up and Jake immediately stood up from my bed as if I had some type of disease that he'd catch if I got to close. "Sit down Jake." I said and he only looked at me. "Please." He reluctantly sat down at the edge of my bed. I got up on my knees and pulled him into one of the tightest hugs I'd ever given.

"I'm so sorry for shutting you out and being rude and like, being a terrible, terrible little sister." I mumbled into the Harvard sweatshirt he was wearing. He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me back.

"I've been so worried about you, Selena. It's like you don't even care."

"I know and I'm sorry. I love you bro, always."

"I love you too sis. Don't forget that." He sighed. We broke apart and he narrowed his eyes at me. "You also have to apologize to Shae too."

I rolled my eyes. "I know and I will... tomorrow. You and I are spending the day together... today."

"But, it's a school day."

I scoffed. "Okay and? When's the last time you and I had a day together?"

Jake sighed and started fidgeting with his fingers. "I-I don't know Selena. What if--"

"Who cares? We definitely need to catch up I feel like I haven't seen you in weeks. Everything's been happening so fast." I hopped out of my bed and skipped to my closet. I had briefly woken up at three o'clock in the morning and had the desperate urge to change my lifestyle. Last night felt like it happened two weeks ago and I'd felt so low. I planned to make things right with everyone. My brother was definitely the first.

"I planned the whole day too! First we're going to make breakfast, then we're going to the park, then we're gonna--"

"Hey, hey, hey Selena!" Jake stopped me. "Can we slow down and take showers first?" He chuckled.

I simmered down a bit. "Oh yeah, showers first."

Jake got up from my bed and wiped his hands on his pants. "We might need to cut this whole brother-sister thing down early. Shae's coming over to cook."

I was bummed a bit but I still kept a smile on my face. "No, that's okay. We can do that whole family dinner thing again."

Jake bit his lip and hung his head low. "I don't think-- w-w-what about that Justin kid? I'm pretty sure he's free tonight." I tired to ignore the pang of annoying guilt in my chest.

"No, he's... uh he's busy. Shae still pissed at me?"

"Yeah... hey, I have a quick question." Jake said and I nodded. "Are-Are you and Trent--"

"No. No, we're not. He was simply giving me a ride home from Ashley's." I half lied and smiled even bigger. "Now, no more serious talk until after breakfast, got it?"

"Got it." He nodded but I can tell their was so many questions he wanted to ask me. That'd just have to wait 'til later.
