Just for a height comparison ^^.
Soo..... just wanted to say this - i love getting comments on my chapters. I see "new comment" from AO3 or Wattpad and it's just like "yeyy!" I read every one of them. People fangirling/-boying/-personing i just get all happy like oooh someone likes it! So even if you have nothing to comment about with the story, feel free to leave one. Questions and stuff. Hell, how was your day today? Have you eaten anything? Had any water? Taken meds if you need them? Be sure to do that, darlings. It's important. So anyway just leave a comment about anything. Now, enjoy!!
"Earth to Solar! No Earth, not you, I mean Solar. Earth to Solar!"
I blink back to reality. The computer I had been staring at had turned off due to not being interacted with. I looked up to see Sun leaning on the other side of the desk, Earth standing a few feet behind. Earth had very platinum blond hair, so much so it looked white. She shared the vitiligo of her brothers - a large spot of skin with a darker pigment covered one of her blue eyes. She was still wearing an apron from arts and crafts earlier that day. God, she was really tall - Sun went up to her shoulders.
Sun smacked his lips together. "Do you need a nap?" He asked slowly, tilting his head to the side.
I stand straight and rub my face. I wasn't tired - well, any more tired than I usually am. "No," I sigh, "just zoning out."
"If you say so," Earth chimed in. Her voice, no matter what tone I've heard her in, has always been proper and calming. That's just how female voices usually are. Usually. Actually, I can list a few people who have horrible voices (I'M LOOKING AT YOU/j/nsrs). Her voice was good for singing "Rises the Moon" as a lullaby.
But anyway.
Sun waved his hands around, his brain malfunctioning. "Uh, huh, ahhh, okay..?"
I flick his nose - much to his displeasure, since he swat my hand away and told me to fuck off - and stand up straight. "Anyway, did you need something?"
While Sun is rubbing his nose, Earth answers for him. "We were wondering if you have seen Lunar anywhere..?" she asks with a soft smile, her head tilting to the side.
"Lunar?" Lunar was the second youngest sibling, right after Earth, though he was much shorter than all of us. It was easy to miss him sometimes if he doesn't make himself known. He's actually not that short - around 5'4 I think. We're all just taller than him in the 6' range. He's average height for an 20 year old. Earth is 18 and she scares me with her height. I kid you not, the first time I saw her I screamed and hid behind the desk. But you didn't hear that from me. "I haven't seen him today."
Earth sighed. "That's what I was afraid of. I think he's already training with Castor and Pollux. It's 10 am."
I brush my hair away from my face. "That damn kid, I swear to god. I still don't trust those Astrals as far as I can throw them."
"I don't think they mean harm," Earth says. "They just want Lunar to be safe and to control his powers. Pollux is really nice, and Castor..." She paused. "... Well, he simply doesn't understand humans very well."
Sun interjects before I can say that I think otherwise. "Wanna help us find Lunar?"
"Sure," I say, beginning to walk around the security desk. Just then the large wooden doors to the daycare open, and in steps Moon. I instantly freeze and my heart skips a beat. We were at least on speaking terms, but we hadn't discussed out relationship at all.
Moon sees me and walks over, ignoring his siblings. "There you are, Solar," he says. His face is a little red. "I was looking for you."
"You were?" I can't express how glad I am that my voice didn't give out and I just start screaming.
He nods. "So, wanna go on a date?"
Holy fucking shit.
I hear Sun's jaw drop with a pop. Earth squeaks. I stand there and suddenly feel like screaming as I have an internal crisis.
Moon raises an eyebrow and waits for my answer. My words are quieter than I'd like them to be. "Well... I-I was, uh, I'm busy, I was gonna help Earth and Sun-"
I feel firm hands on both of my shoulders from behind. "He's not busy at all, we can handle it from here!"
Moon glances between us, clearly confused. I whip my head around to glare at Sun's grinning face and wide eyes and whisper aggressively, "What the fuck are you doing?"
"Helping you get laid," Sun whispers back before gently shoving me forward. "Now," he says in a normal tone, "go have fun."
I sigh and turn to Moon. "Uh, okay sure... Let's go." WHY ISN'T MY FUCKING VOICE NORMAL PLEASE BE NORMAL FOR ONCE??!!
Moon gives Sun a look that screams, What the fuck is wrong with you? before gesturing for me to follow him. "Alright, so... does the Fazcade work for you?"
I flip off Sun from behind my back. "Sure."
Moon smiles, and my heart leaps in my chest. It was the best smile I've ever seen. He grabs my hand (making my thoughts say "OH MY GOD HE'S HOLDING MY HAND HE'S HOLDING MY HAND I MIGHT PASS OUT HE'S PERFECT". Earth also squeaks again) and leads me out of the daycare. After the doors close behind us, we hear from Earth, "I ship it," as well as Sun's reply, "Welcome to the club." Sun was so punchable sometimes. I'd never hit Earth - both because she's a girl and I have morals, and also because she could pick me up and snap me like a twig whenever she pleased - but a small part of me at least wanted to tell her to shut it.
Moon turns to me as we walk and chuckles awkwardly. "Don't mind them. They're idiots."
"I noticed," I reply.
Just to be clear, Moon was still holding my hand and I was still internally screaming. Good times, good times.
