COLTON LANCASTER
"Yeah, she's good. Best head I've ever gotten." Carter says with a shit-eating-grin.
I didn't know who he was talking about.
My mind was on her all-last night and today. Under better circumstances she's sassy.
I like girls like that. Once that see me as just Colton and not Colton Lancaster.
That's why my heads so hung up on her. She's one of the few women who don't care that my family basically owns this town.
I would never say it out loud, but I wish I wasn't a Lancaster. Sure, it benefits some things. With my father owning the school I get to almost do whatever I please. But my parents suck at being parents.
I take care of my younger sister Caty. She's only a sophomore. She's my favorite person because she's the only other person who holds the weight of being a Lancaster. She understands the weight of being a Lancaster.
I glance at Arden for the millionth time today.
I know she knows I'm looking but she doesn't look back and I love it.
I focus back on my half-eaten tray of food.
Another weight of being a Lancaster, I can't like certain people.
Not that there's anything wrong with ordinary people. But it 'Tarnishes the Lancaster name.'
"You and your sister have to realize that being a Lancaster is more than just having the last name." My father tells me. "It's not only a mindset. You have to look the part. Act the part. Be the part and be with the part."
I come back to reality. I've heard those words since the day I was born. It's awful. Most would think I'm spoiled. I have everything I could ever need in the world. Every opportunity I could ever want. But I can't live. I merely exist.
My father's mostly proud of me because I can act the part and be the part. I'm also with the part. Paige Ambrose The mayor's daughter. I can't stand the girl. She awful. She's the definition of a spoiled brat.
But I could never perfect the mindset of a Lancaster.

"This party's sick man!" a random kid i recognize from school tells me. "Thanks man." I reply and he smiles.
Maybe I should make more of an effort to know people.
I walk into my kitchen to grab more beer but stop short when I see Arden.
Part of me didn't think she would show. Part of me didn't want her to.
I lean against the door frame and cross my arms over my chest as I say, "I didn't think you'd actually come."
She turns to face me, and I take her in. I suck in a quick breath.
Her eyes are so green they appear aqua, and her blonde hair makes her eyes pop even more.
Her hairs curled and falls in waves over her shoulders. She not over dressed like most of the girls here.
She's wearing skinny jeans with holes down her thighs with black heels and a black top with no sleeves that stops right above her breasts.
She looks beautiful.
"You're the one who invited me; why do you think I wouldn't show?" she asks with a smirk.
I smile in return before saying, "I don't think you like me very much."
She scoffs and says, "You saved my life, baby, of course I like you." and starts walking towards me.
Shit.
"Are you drunk?" I ask her. She laughs loudly and reply's, "Of course not! I'm just tipsy!"
Then she walks over to me and pats me on the cheek before leaving the room.
