Trekking Day 3 (iii)

"She said she didn't want to go with him and now she's quietly packing her bag to go with him"
Janet was telling this to Hailey, both looking at Selen was silently packing her bag.

"What happened to her? She is uncomfortably silent. I mean, is something wrong?"
Hailey asked whispering to Janet who shook her head.

"I don't know. Sophie was with her, may be she knows something."
Janet whispered in her ear but shushed down when Selen eyed them closing her bag.

"What the hell just happened? What's going on Selen?"
Sophie yelled in frustration as soon as she entered the camp where the other three girls were already present.

"We thought, you knew what happened to her?"
Hailey said to Sophie pointing at Selen who was still quiet but busy doing her work.

"I don't know. Stefan gave me the idea to puncture Jayden's car again and they wer-- it means."
Sophie told them everything pointing her finger to Selen but she got stopped when she realized something.

"What did you guys say about Selen? What did he say to you?"
Sophie asked in confusion but all three girls already had a clue about the topic.

"Why are you so quiet then? Tell us, what happened?"
Janet said this time and stopped Selen from doing her work.

Selen was ultimately quiet all this time and busy packing her bag which was left undone before her friends came up with a plan but suddenly she came into the camp and started packing her bags. When Sophie came into the camp she told everyone about what happened but still clueless about the exact story behind Selen being all silent and suddenly getting ready to go with Jayden. Hailey pinched Janet and gave her a signal to talk to Selen and she held the upper arm of Selen to stop her and divert her attention from her work to her friends. They moved Selen to one of the beds in the camp and settled themselves in another bed and signaled her to start telling them everything.

[Flashback]

"Selen, I wanna talk to you!"
Stefan said holding her hand from behind to stop her going after Sophie.

"Look! I will be very clear this time. I understand why you've been quite awkward around me for some time and I can also understand the reason. What I started feeling for you- no, what I'm feeling for you now is undeniable and is difficult to express in words, similarly it's difficult to tell when it all started. Maybe when we ate ice together that night or maybe in Paris. NO, maybe when you came to the office for the interview, you remember I was the one who conducted the interview. Yes, it was the day when I first saw you and I was impressed by you and you always impressed me."
Stefan started talking his heart out loud and he was smiling all this time and a chuckle left his lips when he recalled all the memories he spent till now with her. Selen was listening to him looking at the ground.

"Look at me Selen. Look at me, into my eyes. I know you have a past you don't wanna relive and don't wanna talk about it at all, and I respect that but I assure you that I will always be by your side in every situation. When I lost you in the forest yesterday I lost my breaths and I realized what you've become to me and how important you've become to make my heart beat. I won't exaggerate but I promise you that you will always find me beside you in every ups and down, in goods and bad, in happiness and in sorrows. I promise you will always find me standing beside you to protect you, to defend you, to protect your heart and to protect you for your bright future."
Stefan continued his confession and Selen was just listening to him and tears started appearing in her eyes but Stefan wiped them away before they could fall on her cheeks.

"I understand it's difficult for you to accept all these things, but I can wait and I will wait, for you. Take as much time as you want I will be ready to listen to any answer you wish to give me but remember I am always with you. Hmm...don't cry. I won't talk about this anymore if you don't want me to, I want to see you smile, always. You can at least do this for me, right? Smile?"
He said holding her both hands as always and looking into her eyes with a fond smile.
