Travis

I woke up to the sound of muffled voices downstairs, my mind still foggy from sleep. Rubbing my eyes, I glanced at the clock on my bedside table. 9:00 AM. I stretched my arms and yawned, ready to start the day.

As I descended the stairs, the voices grew louder, and confusion gnawed at me. What was happening? Had I forgotten about plans I made? I reached the bottom of the staircase, the sight that greeted me stopped me in my tracks.

Dua's recording team was scattered around my house, wires and equipment strewn across the floor. They were setting up microphones and adjusting cameras. I couldn't believe it. What were they doing here?

I scanned the room, searching for Dua, and spotted her near the center of the chaos, talking animatedly with one of the technicians. She looked up and caught sight of me, her face breaking into a bright smile.

"Hey, sleepyhead!" she called out, her voice filled with cheer. "Surprise!"

My confusion deepened. "Uh, hey," I replied, my voice hesitant. "What's all this?"

Dua's smile faltered slightly as she realized my confusion. "Oh, didn't I tell you?" she said, her tone apologetic. "I booked the recording team to come over today. I need to lay down some tracks for my new album."

I felt a pang of frustration. I couldn't believe Dua had arranged all of this without consulting me first. My house was suddenly filled with strangers, invading my space without my consent.

"Yeah, you mentioned it," I said, trying to keep my tone neutral. "I just didn't realize it would be today."

Dua's expression softened, and she stepped closer to me, reaching out to take my hand. "I'm sorry, babe," she said, her voice sincere. "I should have told you sooner. I didn't mean to spring this on you."

I sighed, running a hand through my hair. I appreciated Dua's apology, but I couldn't shake the feeling of discomfort that lingered in the pit of my stomach. I needed to set some boundaries with Dua, to make it clear that my home was off-limits for impromptu recording sessions.

"It's okay," I said finally, forcing a smile. "Just... next time, let me know in advance, okay?"

Dua nodded, her expression contrite. "Of course," she said. "I promise I'll communicate better in the future."

With that, Dua turned back to her recording team, leaving me alone with my thoughts.

Time Skip

Leaving Dua to work with her recording team, I made my way out of the house, needing some space to clear my head. As I drove, I found myself heading towards Patrick's house.

When I arrived, Patrick greeted me with a warm smile and a firm handshake. We settled into the living room, catching up on each other's lives.

As we talked, my phone buzzed with a text from Dua. I glanced at the screen, a small smile tugging at my lips as I read her message. She was updating me on the progress of the recording session, letting me know how things were going.

I responded quickly, telling her how proud I was of her and encouraging her to take her time. Despite the initial hiccup with the recording team, I was genuinely excited to hear the finished product of her hard work.

As the conversation turned to football, Patrick and I discussed the upcoming game on Saturday. We analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of our team and speculated about our chances of winning. I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation building within me.

I made my way back home, feeling a sense of renewed energy and determination coursing through me.

As I walked through the door, I found Dua in the living room, surrounded by her recording equipment. She looked up as I entered, her face breaking into a smile.

"Hey, welcome back," she said, setting aside her work to greet me.

I crossed the room to her, pulling her into a tight embrace. "How's it going?" I asked, genuinely interested in hearing about her day.

Dua launched into an animated explanation of the recording process, her eyes sparkling with excitement. As she spoke, I couldn't help but feel a surge of pride for her and all that she had accomplished.

As Dua and I settled into the living room, the conversation flowed easily between us. I couldn't help but admire her passion and dedication as she spoke about her music career, her eyes lighting up with excitement.

"So, guess what?" Dua said, a grin spreading across her face.

"What's up?" I replied, curious.

"My second single, 'Training Season' is dropping soon," she announced, excitement bubbling in her voice.

"That's amazing!" I exclaimed, genuinely thrilled for her. "I can't wait to hear it."

Dua's smile widened at my enthusiasm. "Thanks, babe," she said, reaching out to squeeze my hand. "I've been working really hard on it, and I think it's going to be something special."

I nodded, feeling a swell of pride for her accomplishments. "I have no doubt about that," I said, my voice filled with confidence.

Dua's eyes sparkled as she leaned in to press a soft kiss to my cheek. "Thank you for believing in me," she said, her voice filled with emotion.

I wrapped my arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. "Always," I murmured, holding her tight.
