Chapter 5: Colony Time

I smile and lean in and hug Uzi, blushing very hard. I must've looked like a lemon considering my blush is yellow.

Uzi becomes confused, but accepts the hug anyway.

I can feel her warmth and smell her hair.(omg that is so creepy)

I start breathing heavily and my eyes hollow out with hearts, a wide smile appearing on my face.

I want to...

I get snapped out of my thoughts when Uzi breaks the hug.

"Hey, what kind of anime do you like?" Uzi asks excitedly.

I think for a moment. "Action, romance and comedy!" I type.

"Really!? Same! We have so much I common!" Uzi says, nearly screaming from excitement.

Uzi starts dragging me to... Somewhere?

I almost fall over from the sudden drag, but N stops her by questioning where she's taking me.

"I'm going to the colony! We're watching an anime together!" Uzi shouts as she continues he's walking.

I tilt my head at the mention of the colony.

"But, they've never even met S, they might not let her in!" N shouts back at Uzi.

Uzi stops and thinks for a moment. "That's a fair point..."

I come up with an idea. "Why don't we introduce me to them so I can go inside? I'm sure they'll let me in." I type on my visor as I twirl my hair nervously.

"And if they don't?" Uzi says.

"Uh-" I say as I think about it.

"Fine, we'll try it, but if they don't let you in, we go with my idea and sneak in." Uzi says as she waves bye to N and V and continues to drag me.

While dragging me, she ends up holding my hand as a result of accidentally almost letting go of me, this makes my heart pound faster and nearly makes me overheat.

My blushing is so intense that it glows onto Uzi. Yellow is a good color on her. Thankfully she didn't notice.

I bite my hand to stop myself from screaming of joy.

Once I start to see the colony come into view, I stop biting my hand and suck up the oil dripping out of it.

The bite quickly heals up and I look at the colony once we're in front of it, still holding Uzi's hand.

"Uh, S." Uzi says, grabbing my attention and pointing at me holding her hand.

I blush and quickly let go,  pulling my hand back and rubbing it in embarrassment.

Uzi knocks on the door and the door opens after a few seconds, only enough for the guy on the other side of the door to show only his face.

"Oh! Hey Uzi! Uh, who's this?" The guy asks, gesturing to me.

I begin to type my answer, but I get cut off by Uzi.

"This is S, now let us in!" Uzi says angrily.

"Fine! Fine!" The guy obliges, opening the door fully, letting us both in.

I'm quite surprised at the size of the door, but before I can compliment the door and the size of it, Uzi pulls me past some guys playing a card game, I wave a them with a smile, hoping we didn't cause too much of a distraction to interrupt their card game.

I get dragged through the halls of the colony, looking at people as we pass by them, Uzi ignores.them, but I wave and smile, uncomfortable since I clearly don't belong here.

Once we get to Uzi's house, we go straight to her room and she sits me down on the bed and turns on an Anime I'm not all to familiar with called "Komi Can't Communicate"? Seems interesting.

It's apparently about a girl named Shouko Komi who can't speak because she has extreme social anxiety, and she meets this boy named Hitohito Tadano.

Wait... Extreme social anxiety? Like me?

I instantly become sucked into the anime and we watch the entire first season despite the episodes being 20-30 minutes long.

Me and Uzi squeal together from excitement and happiness.

" The first season was AMAZING!" Uzi shouts as she puts her hands up in the air.

I smile at her excitement and notice her beauty again. I look at her for a second before leaning in for a kiss, despite her not noticing me getting closer to her.

I was was right there when-

There were three knocks on the door, capturing our attention.

"Come in!" Uzi yells as I back away sadly.

Who I assume to be her dad comes in.

"Hey, Uh-Who?-" he says as he points at me.

"Ugh! It's one of my friends, stop judging me!" Uzi says defensively.

I wave at him and he kind of waves back a little uncomfortable.

"Riiight... Uhm, I'm back from work! Just thought I might let you know... We still can't get that door working though..." He says a little sad.

I tilt my head. "Maybe I can fix it?" I say via text and stand up.

"I mean, you can try, but we haven't been able to get the door working, it being broken since last month, and we haven't been able to do anything about it." He says, leading me to the broken door.

I take a look at it and take a look at the hydraulics of the door and almost immediately see the problem.

I take a screwdriver and take out a rusty screw, taking a new one, putting it in place and screwing it in.

I test the door out and.. it works!

Uzi's father thanks me while crying and hugs the door.

I become confused by his actions of hugging the door, but quickly shrug it off once he hands me a business card.

"Here's a WDF business card, call or text us if you need anything or want to get a job." he says while shaking my hand.

I smile at him and go back over to Uzi happily.

I show her the business card, but notice she's completely taken aback.

"How did you-" Uzi asks, but cuts herself off. "You know what, I don't want to know."

I giggle at her confusion and point to her dad. "What's your dad's name?" I ask her with text.

"Ugh... Kahn..." Uzi says, putting her face in her hand in disappointment.

I internally cheer and look back at the business card, a big smile on my face and my eyes nearly glowing(More than they were before).

I can't wait to start my first shift...
