Chapter 18 - The planet of love

Venus POV

I

hid my face in my pillow as I squealed like a kid throwing a tantrum. It took me a minute or two before I regained my composure and tried to breathe properly.

"Stop squeezing the pillow and stop acting like a teenager; you're four years older than her!" My brother, who was with me in the living room, grabbed the pillow from my hand and hid it behind him.

"How can I stop? I kissed her!! I kissed Hinata-chan, and I don't know if she liked it, hated it, or worse, hates me!! I don't know!!!" I saw him roll his eyes as he took a bite of his Dorayaki.

"How will you know when you didn't even face her after that kiss... You just ran away like that, and look at you now, it's been a week and you're still not over it. Just face her and tell her your feelings."

That's what I'm scared of. What if she hates me?

"I can't!! I don't know how. I'm scared I'll lose her! I can't take rejection, and what if she hates me already?" I was panicking; I couldn't even sign properly.

I'm going insane!!

"I'm telling you, she's not mad or anything. She's confused for sure, but mad? Nahh!" I sighed as if I accepted defeat, letting my body lay on the couch like a lazy person as I stared at the ceiling.

But that kiss though... That was my first kiss...

I unconsciously brought my finger to my lips as I imagined what happened on New Year's. The way she just looked at me with sleepy eyes... I didn't know what had gotten into me... I just let my impulsive thoughts win.

I hope she doesn't hate me...

"I already packed your things; your lunches are here. If you need something, just call me. I slipped a paper with my number in your bag, and here's a mini med kit: there's a pain killer, band-aid, sanitizer, and wipes. Are you guys ready?" I nodded my head and gave Aunt Kathy an okay sign before we left.

As I walked out of my house, my eyes immediately looked for her, but she was nowhere near.

"She went to school already. She asked me to just give you a ride since she was called by the school council president," my brother informed me as he took my bag and placed it in the back of the passenger seat.

I hopped inside his car, and so did he. Arriving at our building, he dropped me off first before he went to the high school building.

My heart is longing for her... And my day was spent wondering where she is... I didn't get to see her at lunchtime since I had my own lunch with me. She was nowhere to be found.

That's what makes my heart ache... I was walking alone, making my way through the high school building and waiting for my brother's classes to finish.

I was at the gate, looking at each face of students in hopes I could see her, at least take a look at her. But I couldn't...

My phone vibrated in my pocket; I reached out and saw a notification.

Sunshine 🌞

Turn around.

I looked over my shoulder at the same time I turned around.

When I faced her, I noticed Hinata-chan carrying an umbrella.

My heart was beating so fast!

"What are you doing here all alone?" She asked.

"I'm waiting for my brother..." I wanted to ask her where she had been, but I didn't.
