The heavy iron gates of the Bianchi gates swing open, revealing a long driveway lined with trees and dimly lit by the ornate lanterns. The SUV rolled forward, gravel crunching beneath the tires.

I stepped out of the car when we reached the front of the mansion. A gust of wind swept through my hair as I adjusted the strap of the duffel and strode toward the main door. Two men stood guard, their faces expressionless, looking ahead. One of them opened the door for her and she stepped in.

Inside, the villas air was a mixture of old wood and expensive cologne. A wide marble staircase stretched at the center, leading to the upper floor. A man in a suit approached her. He didn't looked older than thirty. "Ah, you must be the little bodyguard, Lonzo hired." His voiced lased of amusement when he took in my smaller frame. I was 5'8 but it didn't compare to his 6'3 height.

I rolled my eyes. "I'm Roman." He continued, offering a hand which I ignored. When I didn't make any sign of shaking his hand he put it against his chest. "You're wounding me, princess."

"I don't care. Show me where Mr. Bianchi is, I don't have time for this."

"Feisty," he chuckles. "I like it." He them gestured towards the stairs. "Right this way, bodyguard extraordinare" I followed after him, my senses on high alert despite his cocky and cheerful demeanor. Roman chatted as he led her down a hallway lined with old paintings but I didn't pay attention to him.

"You're not so chatty are you?" He asked.

"No. I'm just here to get the job done." I replied.

"Right. Well then you are not going to be bothered by my uncle's not so happy mood. He's tough to put up with so don't get I'm trouble with him."

"I'm going to be fine."

We arrived at a pair of polished oak doors and Roman knocked loudly before pushing the. Open. "She's here." He simply said.

Lonzo Bianchi stood near the windows, he turned as I entered, his expression stern and unreadable, dressed in a tailored black suit that added to his air of authority.

"Come in. Roman you may go."  Roman gave me a mock salute, grinning and then left before murmuring a quick good luck.

The room fell silent, save for the crackling of the fireplace. I took a seat in one of the armchairs, sitting straight.

"What can you tell me about Kai's abduction?" I asked getting straight to the point.

Lonzo sank into the chair opposite hers "He was taken three days ago," he began, his time almost bored. "Outside a club while he was drunk, some thugs grabbed him. That's all I know. It's not the first time that boy's gotten himself into trouble, and u doubt it will be the last." The coldness in his voice caught me off guard. I'd expected anger or concern for his son but there was none of that. Just impatience.

"Do you have any idea who might have taken him?" I asked

"It's a viral gang, the Bears, they call themselves" be said with a dismissive wave of his hand "what matters is that you bring him back and stop this whole mess."

"No demands?"

"None that are worth my time. The boy gets himself in these situations and then expects me to clean up after him. If you manage to bring back from the location I'll give you, then good. If not, at least make sure the situation doesn't come to bite in the back."

"If you think the Bears are behind this, then it's more than just Kai making a mistake. This could be a move against your family." I say, unbelieving someone could care this little about their son.

"Perhaps," Lonzo said with a shrug. " Or perhaps it's just one more way for him to be a liability. Kai's always been reckless, I suppose it was only a matter of time before it caught up with him. Just do your job. Bring him back or get me some answers. I don't care how as long as you do it quickly." I nod. "Romeo will take you to the location, leave your stuff in your room and get ready." He said with a dismissive tone.

To Lonzo, Kai was just another problem to be solved or discarded if the effort was too big.

I make my way out and look for Romeo, I don't have any idea where my room is.

Out of nowhere he appears Infront of me, making me slam into his body. I look up at him angrily. He raises a brow. "What, weren't you looking for me, princess?" I roll my eyes.

"Show me where my room is." I demand.

"Follow me."
