After we got home, Lonzo called us all for dinner. Kai was clearly not thrilled by this and neither am I.

The dining room of the Bianchi mansion had a huge crystal chandelier and a long mahogany table was set in the middle of the room. I could see the moon through the wall length windows that surrounded us.

I took in my surroundings as I sat down, my gaze moving briefly toward Kai who sat at my left. Romeo was sitting right across from us while Lonzo sat at the head of the table.

What seemed weird to me was that we were the only one here. Not one trace of Kai's mother or his younger brother. There was only a maid who was setting the food on the table.

Dinner began with a quiet clinking of utensils against plates. The meal consisted of a filet mignon, roasted vegetable- which Romeo completely ignored on his plate and a rich red wine sauce. It would have been a more pleasant might if not for the lingering tension hanging over the table.

I could see Kai taking quick glanced at his father who ate in silence, his face expressionless.

We finished the main course in silence, no one daring to speak before Lonzo opened the conversation. Lonzo leaned back into his chair, setting down his wine of glass who was now half empty. I didn't touch the alcohol since I always tried to avoid it. My parents were huge drinkers and often got violent when they were drunk, which made me hate any time of alcohol.

Lonzo's attention turned to his son. "I took care of the Bears. They won't be bothering us anymore." Kai nodded.

"What do you mean you took care of the ?" I asked. Suddenly everyone looked at me, making me looking around uncomfortable.

"A few broken bones, a few threats. The usual. I do have a question for you though, Ms. Petrova." Lonzo said, referring to me with my last name.

"Yes?" I asked

"I've been informed by Lark that you will be staying with us for a while longer." I nod at his statement. "If during the time you are watching over my son, he will do something that could be dangerous for his life then you'll wish you wouldn't have stayed here." He said, staring right into my soul.

"I understand sir. I will do my job properly." He nods, returning his attention to the desert we are just being served. I saw Kai looking at me from the corner of my eye and gave him a tight smile which he returned.

"Romeo, what about you?" Romeo's hand stilled on his spoon. He must have thought he dodged the interrogation of his uncle.

"What about me?" He asked setting the spoon down, and wiping his mouth with a napkin.

"When will you fly back to Italy? You've had a lot of free time on your hands lately."

"I'm doing some stuff here in New York for now. I'll return when I'm finished." Romeo gritted. Lonzo hummed.

"Does this stuff include a girl named Gianna?" Romeo tensed. Who is this girl? Her name sound familiar but I can't remember where I heard it from.

"Yes but it doesn't concern you, uncle. She's mine to take care of."

"Of course it concerns me! This girl has you smitten since you were a kid and you can't seem to let her go even after she betrayed you. She betrayed our family." Romeo's jaw clenched.

He sat up abruptly, his chair falling behind him. "Sit down, child!" He didn't hesitated when he turned around and headed out the front door. In a couple of seconds the engine of a motorcycle filled the night air.

I didn't think Romeo would be the type to react like this when someone picks on him. I guess this Gianna girl must mean a lot to him then.

"I'm going to sleep." Kai announced from beside me, standing up and walking away without looking back twice.
