Lizzie's POV
"Volks on Wednesday, you coming?" Lorna asked as we stood in the uni Starbucks getting our daily iced lattes.
"Um no, I don't think so," I smiled sadly.
"Come on Lizzie, we haven't hung out in ages," she complained, "you can bring that girl?"
"I've got a lot of work to catch up on," I told her, taking my coffee from the barista before turning back to her, "I don't really feel like going out."
"Fine," she exhaled, "how are you doing?"
"I'm all right," I smiled softly.
"Have you heard from Robbie?" she pushed.
I shook my head, "they're um- they're not sure where he is."
"I'm sure he's okay," she replied as we walked out of the café and toward our class, "Ashley said she spoke to that girl."
"Y/N/N?" I asked.
She nodded, "is that her name?"
"Yeah," I whispered, my eyes dropping to the floor as I was sure I had told them this multiple times before.
"Well Ash said that she's not very nice, are you sure she's worth all this?" Lorna asked me harshly, "you've got a grand guy who really wants you and if you just apologised-"
"I don't want to be with Robbie," I replied, stopping in the middle of the path, "I don't love him anymore, I've fallen out of love with him Lorna."
"For a girl?" she checked.
"Yes, for a girl," I agreed, "do you have a problem with that? Because I don't have time to be fighting for a friendship that doesn't support my relationship."
"Fighting for? You shouldn't need to fight for us," she replied, "do you wanna know why we've all been pulling away from you? We don't like the person she's making you into."
"Are you joking?" I asked, slightly shocked.
She shook her head quickly, "you're mean, complacent and you're not bothering to put any effort into our friendship."
"None of you even checked in on me when me and Robbie broke up, do you not think I've had bigger things on my mind?" I laughed in disbelief.
"Fuck this, I can't be arsed," Lorna exhaled, turning around and literally just walking away.
I exhaled and ran after her, grabbing her hand to get her to turn around, "look, I'm sorry, I've got a lot going on right now, but I can't lose my friends because of that."
She hummed and nodded, "come Volks on Wednesday so we can all meet her then."
"Fine; if she's free, I'll bring her with me," I agreed.
"Great," Lorna smiled with the thought that she had won, "come on we're gonna be late."
"What did Ashley say about her?" I asked curiously, following the blonde toward our class like a lost puppy.
