Chapter 6

Yunjin

Maybe Chaewon won't be as bad as I thought to work with. She was bearable with her friends around.

I'm not interested in being friends with her. I just want to work and get out of here. I was sick of answering questions about myself yesterday, so of course I had to start asking about her.

If it was only for a couple of minutes, then that was a few minutes less I had to talk about myself.

I get up at 7 am to quickly shower and get dressed. There isn't a uniform, so I just put on a simple pair of jeans and a brown skin tight shirt.

Something that won't show stains if I spill something on it.

I've worked at a coffee shop before. It's far from clean.

I pull my hair back in a messy ponytail, and I put on some mascara and lipgloss.

At about 7:30 I'm done getting ready.

I grab my purse, running downstairs.

"Ah Yunjin you're awake. I made you some breakfast." Nona slides a plate across the table. It has a piece of toast with avocado, 3 pieces of bacon, and an over easy egg.

I smile at her. "So that's what smelt so good." I say, clasping my hands together and licking my lips.

She laughs at me, and shakes her head. "Do you have time?" She asks. "I can eat extra fast."

I sit down at the bar and quickly begin to dig in. I have to leave in 10 minutes, so I have to eat quickly.

"You know I'm so glad you are staying with me. It gets lonely here in this big house. It's far too big for me alone." Nona rests her head on her hand. She leans against the table watching me eat.

It makes me feel warm inside that she cares. She's gentle and caring. She accepts me for who I am and what I want to do in life.

"I never want to leave here." I watch as her gaze softens, and the wrinkles beside her eyes comes together.

"You're going to do amazing things in life little one, and I'll be right by your side cheering you on through it all. When it gets tough and you need a shoulder to cry on Nona is right here. When you need someone to jump around and scream with because you just got the best news ever Nona is ready to jump and scream with you."

I lean my head back to stop the tears from falling and ruining my makeup.

I get up, rounding the table, and engulfing my Nona in a tight huge that says more than my words ever could.

She pats my butt, and pulls away after a good minute. "Get to work now. I will clean up."

"I love you." I kiss her cheek, and grab my purse and the keys to the other car.

It's a beautiful white Lexus that Nona basically threw into my hands the second I seen it.

She claims to never use it and so she's given it to me.

I don't live far from work, but it's a good little drive.

Only about 10 minutes, but it takes around 15 with traffic.

I park on the side of the street in front of the shop. Chaewon and the owner are already here.

I've yet to get her name. I should probably do that.

I walk through the door. The bell announcing my entrance.

Chaewons eyes shoot up to me. Her long brown hair is in a low braid with a couple of strands falling around her face. Her apron covers her dark blue jeans and green shirt that's tucked in.
