The next morning, Katie awoke at 8am in preparation for her 11am shift at work, which would last until 8pm. She groggily rolled out of bed, noticing that Lapis had already risen and was downstairs. Katie made her way downstairs to find Lapis lounging on the sofa, engrossed in their phone. Lapis looked up and greeted her with a "Good morning, princess." Katie responded with a quiet "Morning," feeling the discomfort of her period aching in her back.

As Katie approached, Lapis stood up and met her in the middle of the living room. Inquiring about Katie's plans for the day, Lapis asked, "Are you heading to work or staying home like yesterday?" Katie hesitated, unsure of what she wanted to do. Lapis considered Katie's dilemma for a moment before speaking up.

They were concerned for her well-being. "Maybe it would be best to stay home today. You're already dealing with cramps from your period, and working a long shift may only make you feel worse later on," they reasoned. Lapis pointed out the logistics of commuting to and from work in Stratford, emphasising the long journey and the strain it would put on Katie's body.

Katie listened to Lapis' reasoning and finally nodded in agreement. She settled herself on the sofa, wrapping the blanket around her to stay cosy. "You're right. It doesn't seem worth it today," she admitted, grateful for Lapis' understanding and support.

With a sigh of relief, Katie decided to take the day off work and focus on resting and taking care of herself.

As she continued to relax on the sofa, she couldn't help but feel grateful for Lapis' thoughtful consideration and care.

With Katie curled up on the sofa, Lapis disappeared into the kitchen to prepare a comforting cup of tea. A few minutes later, they returned with a steaming cup of tea and a hot water bottle in hand. Placing the tea on the table within Katie's reach, Lapis set the hot water bottle by her side, knowing it would provide some relief for her discomfort.

Katie gratefully accepted the hot water bottle, holding it close to soothe her aching body. As she reached for her mood octopus nearby, she flipped it to the angry blue side, reflecting her current state of mind. Lapis chuckled at the display, amused by Katie's playful reaction.

Mindful of Katie's needs, Lapis returned to the kitchen to whip up some toast for her. Carrying the warm toast back into the living room, Lapis handed it to Katie, offering a simple but thoughtful gesture of care and support. Katie's mood began to lighten as she settled in with her tea, hot water bottle, and toast, feeling grateful for Lapis' comforting presence and attentiveness.

As Katie finished her toast, she handed the empty plate to Lapis, who graciously took it and placed it on the coffee table. Katie reached for her tea, taking a soothing sip of the hot oat beverage before setting it back down.

With a subtle shift in her mood, she flipped her mood octopus to the happy pink side, signalling a change in her emotions. Lapis looked at Katie with a gentle smile, sensing that she was feeling more at ease. "Is there anything else you need?" they asked, genuinely concerned for her well-being.

Katie shook her head, a grateful look in her eyes as she met Lapis' gaze. "Maybe... Can I lay my head on your lap?" Katie requested softly, seeking comfort and closeness. Lapis responded with a tender smile, "Of course, princess." Katie turned over on the sofa, settling herself as Lapis sat down and enveloped her in their arms. She rested her head on Lapis' lap, feeling the warmth and support of their presence calming her troubled mind.

As Lapis continued to stroke Katie's hair tenderly, they whispered sweet reassurances to her, "It's okay, pretty girl." Katie pulled the blanket back up over her head, sinking deeper into a peaceful slumber. Her breathing became slow and steady, her cheeks flushed with a peaceful warmth, making her look even more angelic as she slept.

Watching over Katie as she slept, Lapis felt their heart melt with affection for her. Her chest rose and fell gently with each breath, her face serene and innocent in its repose. Seeing her so relaxed and at peace brought a sense of calm to Lapis, who continued to stroke her hair lovingly.

As Katie drifted further into sleep, Lapis lowered themselves onto the sofa, cradling her in their arms and resting her head on their chest. Katie snuggled closer to Lapis in her sleep, a small smile gracing her lips as she nuzzled into their comforting embrace.

Lapis planted a gentle kiss on the top of her head, whispering words of endearment as she slept soundly. "You're so adorable," Lapis murmured softly, feeling a wave of affection for the sleeping beauty in their arms. Katie sighed softly, her body relaxing even further, her breathing becoming a gentle, soothing rhythm.

Katie's breath seemed like a soft whisper, lulling both her and Lapis into a sense of contentment and closeness. For Lapis, watching over Katie as she slept, she was a vision of pure innocence and beauty, bringing a sense of peace and warmth to their heart.

Lapis gently kissed Katie's temple, feeling a rush of tenderness for the peaceful beauty in their arms. Katie remained asleep, her breath soft and steady, her face exuding a serene and content expression.

A gentle smile graced her lips, basking in the comfort of being held by Lapis. "Let me get you some water, can you lay down on the sofa?" Lapis whispered to Katie, hoping to quench her thirst and ensure her well-being. Although Katie was still asleep, she made a small noise in acknowledgment, nodding her head slightly. Lapis could see the exhaustion in her features, but also the peacefulness that sleep had brought her.

As Katie stirred slightly, her eyes slowly blinked open, meeting Lapis' gaze with a hint of reluctance.

She seemed to be reluctant to leave the tranquillity of her slumber, rubbing her eyes wearily as she leaned on Lapis, her body feeling heavy with fatigue. "You need to drink something, come on," Lapis gently urged, helping Katie sit up and offering her a glass of water. Katie took a few sips, grateful for the hydration, her features relaxing as the cool liquid refreshed her throat.

Lapis watched over her with a gentle expression, their care and concern evident as they tended to Katie's needs, ensuring her comfort and well-being. The peacefulness of the moment enveloped them both, creating a sense of intimacy and connection in their shared space of quiet comfort.

Katie looked up at Lapis with a hopeful expression, her voice soft and cautious as she made her request. "Can I... umm... can you run me a bath, please?" she asked, feeling a sense of vulnerability in her tired state.

Lapis's heart swelled with tenderness at her request, nodding in agreement. "Of course. Bath bomb?" they offered, knowing how much Katie enjoyed the scented and colourful additions to her baths.

Katie's eyes lit up with a hint of excitement as she nodded eagerly. "My Snow fairy one," she specified, recalling the sweet scent that brought her comfort and relaxation.

With a gentle smile, Katie rose from Lapis's arms and made her way upstairs to the bathroom, retrieving the Snow Fairy bath bomb from the lush box where she stored her favourites. Lapis followed behind her, standing by her side as they began running the warm water for the bath.

As the tub filled with soothing warmth, Katie dropped the bath bomb into the water, watching as it fizzed and released its sweet fragrance into the air. Lapis stood behind her, a comforting presence as they ensured everything was prepared for Katie to relax and unwind.

The sound of running water and the gentle fizz of the bath bomb created a peaceful atmosphere in the bathroom, setting the stage for a moment of self-care and relaxation.

She was able to relax a bit before actually getting in the bath, knowing that she felt safe with Lapis, no matter what.
