Wei Wuxian suffers from Congenital insensitivity (unable to feel physical pain). After their first meeting, Wangji begins to feel pain but it wasn't his and he wonders why. He eventually comes to find out that it was Wei Ying's pain.
What will he d...
"Did the healer tell you anything important to remember?" Lan Zhan asked me.
The four of us were still sitting in the Yashi and there was still about an hour before lectures were to start. I looked at him and nodded, "I was actually with Wen Qing. It's not that I didn't trust your healers it's just that she was available upon my visit. She wants me to see her again tomorrow to clean my back again and put fresh ointment on. As for any chance to reverse this condition, if I was younger I would have had a chance as I was still growing and the medication would have helped me but since I am now too old, it won't be of use."
"I know you worry about this, but please allow me to help you," Lan Zhan offered.
"I am sorry that you are suffering from this because of me," I told him, "I'm sure it's not exactly what you'd expected from your fated person."
"Honestly, before meeting, I had no interest in anyone. I was more focused on my cultivation. I still am, but as your partner, it is my duty to be there for you," he explained.
"I was the same way...though I was just told so many times that I wouldn't be with anyone that it was just something that I believed," I told him.
"Not anymore," Lan Zhan said.
I sighed, "this is going to take some time to get used to for me," I said, "I'm used to fending for myself."
"You will learn what it's like to live within a sect where people actually care about everyone. You are Wangji's fated partner, and you belong here," Sect Leader Lan said.
"Thank you," I said.
"Are you sure you will be okay?" Lan Zhan asked, "you just had bones rest."
"I can't feel anything...unless you can feel discomfort," I said.
"I do a little...it's like it's a bit harder to breathe but I am okay," he said.
"Wei Wuxian, will you be willing to share with us, what happened to you?" Lanxian-Sheng asked.
"I will but if it's okay, can I have some time. This is already a lot for me to share as it is. I'm not sure if I am ready to disclose what happened. It's too...hard to talk about, let alone hear," I replied.
"Alright, just let us know when you are ready," Sect Leader Lan said.
"Lectures are starting soon, may I be excused?" I asked.
"You may," Lanxian-Sheng replied.
Zewu Jun removed the barrier from around the room and I left. I needed some time to myself before classes began because I was not planning on exposing my secret to anyone, but here I am now. I just found an empty garden and sat at one of the tables until it was time to head to class. Classes were a bit boring but I managed to make it through it.
After morning lectures, Lan Zhan went with me to gather my things so I can move to that new space. I was moving to a space that was right next to Lan Zhan's place. He really wants me close by. I was thankful Jiang Cheng was not there at the moment so it should go smoothly...or so I thought. He came just as I packed the last of my things.
"Going somewhere?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"Yes, I am given a new room," I said, "it has come to Lanxian-Sheng's attention that we shouldn't be in the same room together. We argue too much and loud noise is forbidden. I do not want to keep getting noise complaints and getting punished because you cannot have a conversation without yelling."
"That is not true!" He yelled.
I sighed and folded my arms across my chest, "my point has been proven," I said and turned to Lan Zhan, "not my fault."
"You won't be punished for his behavior," Lan Zhan assured me.
"What, are you two buddies now?" Jiang Cheng asked and pulled a sly grin, "what will my mother say?"
I felt a chill run down my spine before turning to face him, "you like seeing be suffer don't you?" I asked, "that's okay, it won't happen ever again because I secede from the Yunmeng Jiang Sect."
"You leave, you leave the lectures," he said.
"Wei Ying already has other living arrangements, which is why he was packing his belongings," Lan Zhan said, "you will be reported to Zewu Jun of your threats towards Wei Ying and the over excessive noise. You will be punished accordingly. Go speak to Lanxian-Sheng for further details."
Jiang Cheng let out a loud grunt before storming out. I sighed and looked at Lan Zhan, "sorry."
"No need," he said, "I will inform my brother of your situation. You are welcome here...soulmate."
I felt my face warming up due to his words. I cleared my throat and nodded, "so, where is this place I am going to?" I asked, changing the subject.
"Follow me," he said and I did just that. Along the way I could tell he was taking glances my way. He was probably worried is all, "Wei Ying, if he gives you any more problems, let me know," he then handed me a Jade token, "this is a way for you to be more protected. It is specifically made by me to give to my fated person once we meet. It allows you special access and privileges that others can't have. You are like a normal disciple here, but with a little bit better treatment as you are protected by me specifically."
I took the token and tied it to my robes, "thank you," I said, "it's beautiful...you'll have to forgive me for not having something for you in return."
"No need," he said.
"I will get you something, that is my promise...or more like make something. I like to craft things," I said.
"Just do not overwork yourself and take care of yourself," he told me.
"You have my word," I said.
