When Wangji woke up one morning, he found that Wuxian was already awake. It was very rare for Wuxian to be up before Wangji. Wangji always woke around five due to the internal clock he grew up with at Cloud Recesses. It just stuck with him for all those years.

Wuxian, however, can usually sleep until noon if he was allowed. Wangji was good about getting him up before then so he can enjoy the day. It was odd to wake up and find Wuxian was not beside him.

Even more so, a bath and breakfast was already prepared for Wangji. So he took a quick bath and at quickly before going out to find Wuxian. They had just settled in their new home, so where did Wei Wuxian go?

Wangji stepped out the main door and could hear sounds coming from the backyard. He turned around and went through the house to the back. He finally found where Wuxian went.

Wei Wuxian was outside practicing his sword skills. Wangji furrowed his brow at this. Wuxian hardly ever did such things unless he had things on his mind. Wangji began to wonder if Wuxian actually slept well last night. The closer he looked at Wuxian, and watched his movements, well, to be fair he was always mesmerized by his skills, but right now, he noticed Wuxian being a lot more aggressive in this movements, and even fumbling occasionally.

Wangji sighed as he looked through their bond again. The conflicts going on inside Wuxian's heart was a lot for one person to deal with. Wangji felt like he was suffocating but it wasn't his pain, it was Wuxian's.

Wangji slowly approached Wuxian and made sure that he walked where Wuxian could see him coming, "Wei Ying?"

Wuxian stopped what he was doing and looked at Wangji, "Lan Zhan," he said with a smile on his face.

Wangji could see it was a tired smile, "I can feel your stress, talk to me."

Wuxian put his sword back in its sheath, "my thoughts are complicated, conflicting even."

"I am here, I am not going anywhere," Wangji assured him as they sat at a table nearby.

"When I first lived in Lotus Pier, everything seemed fine. Though Madam Yu could not stand me, she ignored me mostly. I do not know how long I was on the streets I just know it was a long time. I was about nine when I moved in. For a few years it was perfectly fine. Then I was suddenly a target for Madam Yu to torture whenever she wanted. I'm trying to understand why," Wuxian explained.

"Though she probably had her own selfish reasons, some people do evil just because they want to see the world burn," Wangji said.

"Do you think it was something I did? Should I have ever agreed to go with Sect Leader Jiang at all? I was a child and only wanted a place to call home. Is that so much to ask for?" Wuxian asked, tears starting to cloud his vision.

Wangji pulled the man into his embrace, "not too much, but do not worry about them anymore. You have me."

Wuxian melted into Wangji's chest, "I didn't sleep much last night."

"Being as you were awake before me, I thought as much," Wangji said, "have you eaten breakfast?"

"A small one," Wuxian answered.

"Let us get you properly fed and then I will lay down with you for a little while," Wangji said.

Wuxian nodded and let Wangji pull him along into the house. Wangji made Wuxian a better breakfast and sat with him while he ate. Wuxian actually sat in his lap, and Wangji did is utmost to comfort him as he at. Wuxian finished eating and curled up further in Wangji's arms, his face shoved into his chest and his arms wrapped firmly around him.

Wangji smiled as he stood up with the man cradled in his arms. Wuxian didn't budge or make a sound. Wangji had already come to the conclusion that Wuxian had fallen asleep so quickly. He brought Wuxian to bed before going to clean up the dishes in the dining area. He then laid down next to Wuxian and pulled him close again.

Wuxian woke a few hours later feeling a bit more refreshed. Though he was still nervous for the trial he was doing better. When he woke, he and Wangji were lying on their sides facing each other. Their legs were tangled together, loathe to part, Wuxian's armed were curled in on himself and nuzzled between him and Wangji's chest. Wuxian's face, was nuzzled comfortably in Wangji's neck. He could feel Wangji's long slender fingers running through his inky black hair.

Wuxian shuttered and let out a contented sigh. He nuzzled his face closer, rubbing his nose to Wangji's neck. He could smell the sandalwood that was Wangji's scent. It was soothing, and it always seemed to ease him. But, it also did other things, like arouse him a bit. It was this scent that seemed to get stronger whenever the two made love. It was a scent that always had Wuxian wanting to crawl into Wangji's skin and get as close as possible.

Wangji lifted his head slightly to looked down at Wuxian and even down to where he could feel Wuxian's arousal getting harder. Wangji smiled, "are you...awake?" He asked.

"Mnn," Wuxian hummed, "but now I feel..."

"I can feel it, you are hard," Wangji told him.

"Your scent does that to me sometimes," Wuxian told him.

"We should fix that," Wangji said and rolled over so he was lying on top of Wuxian, "that is if you are wanting to."

"Please," Wuxian said, almost begging. He could feel Wangji's arousal as Wuxian knew how big he was. Wangji was hard too, and he was positioned just right to where their groin's pressed against each other's. Wuxian slowly ground his hips up trying to get more contact with Wangji.

"Eager," Wangji said as he started to undress, "but I will not let you wait. That would be cruel of me."

Wuxian smiled as he wrapped his arms around Wangji's neck and pulled him in for a kiss. The two got lost in each other for the remainder of the day. Wangji was glad he could help Wuxian forget about everything for a while.
