Pierre's PoV:

You stare at the pictures on the wall, all featuring the classic Ferrari-red car. It still feels odd that you accepted the job, but this is the right move for you. Y/n keeps reassuring you of that too. Your focus returns back to Mark, who runs through the general protocols and other things worth mentioning. A simple nod every now and then bridges his understanding that you're paying attention.

The frame with Michael Schumacher is enticing to look at; The longer your focus stays on it, the more details you notice. Fuck - He was such a legend.

Mark continues for another while, before announcing that was everything. Your manager gets up, thanking Mark for the warm welcome and the great tour through Ferrari's headquarters.

They inform you that you have a photoshoot for some Instagram content alongside Charles in a couple of minutes. You've been dreading this part all day long.

Pierre: Yeah, okay - Do I have time for a coffee though?

Mark nods: Yes! Of course, we can get you one! Martina? Would you please help out?

The young brunette jumps up, immediately saying it's no problem. She vanishes and returns with a to-go cup a couple seconds later.

Pierre: Thank you-

Martina smiles: Oh no problem, let me know if you want anything else!

You give her a short smiling nod, before being ushered down a long, red hallway. It's been a while since you've seen Charles last. Well, you were at a few events with him, but you didn't talk or properly see each other, since the day on the yacht a few weeks ago.

In the meantime y/n has fully cut contact with him - He continued trying for a little while longer, but to no avail. She's made up her mind, and you don't blame her. He put her through enough... Or they put each other through enough. It's not solely his or her fault, but rather a shitty combination of both their actions and words.

The two of you also moved in together without him properly knowing of it... So there's also that...

He left your text on read back then; It only felt fair to at least give him a heads-up before the news broke later that night that you were transferring teams... Mark leads you through a couple more doorways, before you enter a massive photo studio.

The light is dark and moody. Mark points at another door.

Mark: You can go through there to get to hair and make-up!

You thank him, getting on your way, softly exhaling. He'll probably be there already. To no surprise, you were right. He's laughing about something, as you enter, and his smile vanishes. He glances at you, swallowing harshly, and then giving you a single nod with a serious face through the reflection of the mirror.

You return the nod, as one of the women gets you seated two meters from him. He glances over at you for a moment, while continuing the conversation from before. A couple seconds later the woman he's talking to turns your way, introducing herself as Katja, saying she'll be getting you ready for the shoot. She's around forty if you'd have to guess, with long black hair, some oddly placed piercings and a slight Eastern European accent.
