Ben walked out the building with DogDay. The Smiling Critters were playing follow the leader with Daisy. Daisy was marching as the Smiling Critters were marching behind her. Ben giggled and Dogday started sniffing the ground.
"What is it?" Ben asked.
"I smell, tomatoes... onions... peppers... and spinach?" Dogday said. Ben spotted a fire pit. There was a bucket above it. Ben looked at it and saw tomato sauce cooking inside of the bucket.
"Is this what you smell?" Ben asked. Dogday sniffs the sauce.
"Yeah, it is." Dogday said.
"Welcome back, sweetie." Mommy said.
"Hey, Mommy Long Legs." Ben said.
"Oh! Dogday! What happened to your legs?" Mommy asked.
"The prototype." Dogday said.
"Oh, you poor thing! I know what will make you feel better. Go sit at the table, supper is almost ready." Mommy said.
"What are you making?" Ben asked.
"My special stretchy spaghetti and chessy meatballs." Mommy said.
"Ben, can you get the bucket of spaghetti inside the statue?" Mommy asked.
"Sure." Ben said. Ben went inside the statue and saw a bucket with tall stretchy noodles. Be grabbed the bucket with the GrabPack.
He holds the bucket and Mommy puts a strainer on top of the sewer drain. Ben pours the noodles into the strainer as the water runs down the drain. Poppy and Kissy brought the meatballs with mozzarella bits in them.
They poured in the noodles and meatballs into the sauce, and Mommy started mixing it.
"This was Mommy's apology for hurting me." Poppy said. Ben smiled in understanding. He picked her up and hugged her.
"Don't worry, I'll help till the very end." Ben said. They all sat down and Mommy served the spaghetti. She stretched her arm out to Ben and placed a bowl of spaghetti.
Ben noticed that the bowl was like a zoo pal but it was Smiling Critters. Judging of the color, Ben has a Catnap bowl. Ben finds it to be an omen. Ben twisted his fork and bite into the pasta. The noodles were stretchy so Ben had to eat like taffy. It was hard to chew but the taste was worth it.
Ben felt like his taste buds were dancing as he tasted the sauce. He closed his eyes as he enjoyed the flavor. He licked the sauce off his lips. He twisted the fork again as he ate more.
"Wow, this might be the best meal I've had in a long time." Dogday said. Daisy and the Smiling Critters were eating from one bowl. Poppy hums as she eats the spaghetti.
"I'm glad you all like it." Mommy said. Ben finished eating the spaghetti. Then he looked at his bowl and saw Catnap's face with a big grin.
