"So..." I shook my head, staring at the giant cut up leg that now sat upon various tables in Ruth's workshop. "...what are we doing with that?"

"I'm not sure...." Ruth lead her hand across it, resulting in slight taps of gold. "I've never seen anything like it."

"Don't touch it too much." Burnett grunted.

"We could sell it!" She giggled, playing with her braids. "We'd be rich!"

"We're not selling this." The older man placed a spanner on a workbench. "This material is special and rather...experimental. If it gets in the wrong hands, well, let's not imagine that."

"Elaborate." I scratched my hair.

"Well, as you can probably tell it's extremely powerful. With enough will, it can take the life on any living being. It gives the owner a sense of power."

"Owner? Do you mean lady?"

"No. I mean someone is controlling her actions, and has been for a while."

A silence fell.

"Do you know who?"

His neck snapped back, scaring both of us.

"No. Why ELSE would I constantly be on the island?"

"Do you at least have any suspicions?" Ruth asked, hanging up what remained of her axe.

"I have had some over the years. Firstly, I had reasons to suspect Mitton. He was rather harsh to Alice and Tasha - only when the film was midway through production in 1998. Although, Lady continued her rampage after he sadly passed away. I visit his grave sometimes. You should visit him, I don't know how many people stop by apart from me. He's not far, Ffarquhar Mountain. Got a grave site there."
He handed me a note.
"Directions are here."

"Any other suspicions?" Ruth chimed in again, eager to hear.

"I also suspected Jane for a while."

Ruth stopped cleaning the axe.
"Spill."

"Well, she was also against Tasha a lot. But then I realised that it can't be her. She was with me during an attack a few years ago. The person controlling Lady must be inside Lady - that's what I assume from the way I built her."

Mentally crossing off David and Jane, I pondered.

"Anyone else?" I asked, bringing out my notepad.

"One more. I also had my suspicions pointed towards Charles Hatt."

Ruth's eye twitched. "My brother?"

"He's your brother?" Burnett raised an eyebrow.

"Adopted. But get on with your explaination."

"He always had some kind of edge to him. He owned a HANDGUN for gods sake."

"They were for when blasting caps were necessary during the switch to electronic signals." Ruth sighed. "That's no reason to accuse him for committing...whatever crime this is!"

"Then why did he vanish out of nowhere?!" Burnett snapped. "He's in that thing!"

"He disappeared," Ruth growled. "Because it KILLED him!"

...

"...shit, sorry." Burnett shook a little.

Ruth threw her hair back and stormed out of the workshop.
