"...oh my god..." I stumbled backwards as Lady dragged another leg and began to tear Murphy's face apart. He couldn't scream, of course, he was dead by the first puncture - but it wasn't any less traumatising. His left eye was scooped out and crushed, his nose torn off, his lips burned from acid. She wasn't leaving any room for mistake.
And there was no doubt about it.
Murphy was long gone. When I first met Murphy, he was a breath of fresh air - a symbol of change in the winds. On an island where everyone and everything seemed rather cynical, he was different - my main reasoning for continuing.
And now he was gone, a lifeless husk infront of us.
I was cut out of my trance, however, by a loud BANG from the railgun.
Molly had fired her first shot, right into Lady's leg. She screeched a battle cry."Hey! That actually hurt!" The Monster snapped.
"There's more where that came from!" Molly howled. "Have it!"
Lady's face turned, around 180 degrees, and opened, much like one of those transforming ball toys. A golden substance spewed out at all of us, and obscured our view.
I couldn't see anything.
I could only hear.
I could only hear the screams of our engines.
Once the dust settled, my eyes were drawn to Kelsee using his new claw to latch onto one of Lady's legs - as she had six left. He wouldn't let go, just shouted as she pulled."Oh! Kelly!" She let out a maniacal laugh. "Long time, no see! How's your beautiful face?"
"Better than yours will be!" He responded, picking up a log and throwing it into her funnel with a CRACK and a WHIP.
"That is IT!" She pounded one of her legs onto the ground as it detached and fell across the rails. "No more games! Time for you to see what I'm REALLY capable of!"
With one ungodly screech, The Monster grabbed what remained of Murphy's body and threw it into the air as it disappeared into the night. She began to laugh, raise a leg and made the entire forest go dark.
Then, we all heard a familiar voice."Hello? Help? Clarence?" Neville's voice called out into the forest as a feint light shone on what seemed to be the black engine, all bruised and battered around the face with holes in his smokebox and boiler. "...clarence? Help me, dear..." His voice was shaky and cold.
"Don't move, Clarence." I stammered.
"She'll kill me if you don't help me..please...i..love you, too." He smiled.
"Clarence, don't." I repeated.
"Hey, Gray - can it. You got him in this state. The least that you could do is help him out! Look, I'm coming!" Clarence smiled and moved forward.
'Neville' smiled too.
"Clarence, no!" Rawlinson screamed.
As soon as Clarence got close, 'Neville' shot out a beam of gold.
At first, nothing happened until the metal casing around him began to bubble and scretch, scrape and grow.
We watched five legs cut right through his sides, and several glowing magenta eyes appear on his face.
Clarence began to back up.
"Oh god. NO NO NO-"Lady's face grew back to normal and she latched onto Clarence - and began to spit a form of acid onto his face, but just enough to keep him alive. His bloody screams drowned out any sounds of idling. We once again couldn't move as this again was also torn from piece to piece.
She was about to deliver a killing blow when-"Take this, BITCH!" Echoed out, followed by a momentous bang. An explosive case took out two of Lady's legs - causing her to stumble away from the tank engine, much to Molly's amusement. "I'll handle her from now on, all of you need to run! Now!"
