Passing the gutted corpse of a double-decker bus, I knew we were growing close. Not only was the fog setting in, but a feeling of dread slowly took over all of us. Sure, we had been preparing for this for quite a while, but it didn't feel ...right. I knew that this was the only way to get rid of Lady, but it could potentially cost a life. And - I'm very sorry to say - not all of us walked away from this confrontation alive.

The sheer thought of death was always in my head. I had a family to go home to - a boyfriend, a young daughter - the thought of leaving them behind, isn't a thought I was supposed to have. My job was also at stake here, for all my boss knew, I was still investigating Alice's murder. God, this wasn't how my life was supposed to go. I was supposed to settle down and become a famous reporter and NOT be the cause of anyones death. Unfortunately, that would never become a reality. Several were dead because of me, and it wouldn't be wrong to say that the number would grow.
