Life is strange.
Just a couple of years back, I was getting ready for my first day of kindergarten. Now I'm standing in front of my crying mother and father who is comforting my mother before getting on my scheduled plane to ATL.
You might be wondering why I'm on my way to Atlanta. Well, In two weeks I will be attending my first class at Clark Atlanta University. I took a gap year instead of starting college right after high school. I've always dreamed of attending that school since so many influencers attend there. And considering that I've always wanted to be an influencer, I might be able to start with the help of some of them.
I major in Behavioral Analysis & Minor in Business. My parents chose my major and let me choose my minor. It's kind of weird but I mean atleast I got to choose my minor.
I want to own my own business one day so Business being my minor is perfectly fine. But Behavioral Analysis being my major is the problem. It's not the major I wanted so I just know it's about to be stressful.
With my suitcase in my right hand, my carry on in the other, I look at both of the adults who are both looking at me with sad faces. I'm really going to miss them.
See, my parents who I call my parents, aren't actually my parents. Me & my sister was adopted by them at a very young age. I've been with them since the age of 13 and my sister, 16.
Before we we're adopted, she was taking care of me most of the time even though we we're moving from foster home to foster home. I'm truly thankful for her.
I also can't wait to see her because she also attends Clark Uni. She is currently a senior and graduates in a couple of months. she actually also took a gap year just like me. So instead of graduating at 23, she's graduating at 24.
"Okay mom you can stop crying, I have a plane to catch" I said before laughing a bit.
"I know but I'm just so emotional right now. My baby is leaving me too soon" She said while crying even harder if that's even possible.
"Honey I know you're sad but we must let her go to catch her plane" My darkskinned father told her. She ignored him and came up to me before holding my face in her hands with tears in her eyes.
"You call me everyday and every second of your life, do you understand? I wanna hear your voice everyday so I know you're doing okay" She with a small smile.
