Chapter Eight

Tony

I place the Tv on it's stand. "Thanks for helping me move into this awesome new dorm Gerald. You know you'll be invited to play video games with me." "No problem Rivera. You got anything to drink?" "Sprite, water, orange juice." "Water." I toss him a water and we plop down on a couple bean bag chairs. "Listen Tony, we've been friends since grade six and you know I'd never lie to you right." "Right." "So with that being said, here check this out." He passes me this weeks Glendale Buzz. "What am I checking?" "Page 15. Gossip column."  I flip through the magazine and read the column. "Why the hell do things like this always happen to me?" I get up. "Watch my dorm Gerald." "No problemo." I grab my leather jacket that now fit tightly over my newly sculpted chest. My feet moved swiftly over the freshly watered grass as I made my way to the infirmary. I walk inside and the student nurse at the front desk looks up. "Well hot damn. What brings you here? " "I need to see Joshua Carrington." "Absolutely." She gets up and I follow her back to the housing area. "He's been very popular lately." "Really?" "Well not as popular as you'll be. " She stopped walking and turned to me. " Would you mind joining me for uh...a bite after your visit? I'm clocking out soon so...I mean, I understand if you don't wanna go ...", I should go. His room is right here. " "Thanks...uh..." "Becky."  "Yes Becky! Thank you." I open the door and walked in. I hear a giggle that my brain quickly identifies as Gen's. "Gen?" She looks up and observes my face then she falls off the bed. Josh seemed confused. "Tony!" Josh's eyes light up with fear. "Holy shit. Rivers?" My fists were balled up. "Babe, it's not what it looks like." "Have you been hitting the gym?" "No and would you two like to explain this to me?" I pull the rolled up magazine from my pocket and toss it to Josh. "Yeah, This is bad." "No shit Sherlock. Anything to say for yourselves?" "Honestly, from the bottom of my heart and the depths of my soul...no bro." "Gen?" She was silent. A tear slipped out of my left eye and rolled down my cheek. I turn around and leave the room slamming the door behind me. Afew seconds later, I hear the sound of Gen's footsteps. "Tony, wait! It's not what it looks like. We were just getting back on good terms. That's all." "Not to be a prick but I'm not in the mood for your bullshit tonight." "I don't see what I did wrong." "Bull. Shit." "Seriously." "You fucking lied to me!"  " I was protecting Josh! He was..." I stop walking and the awkward chasing that was happening ceased. "Sweetheart, who are you trying to convince? Me? Or you?" I start walking again. She follows. "People make mistakes Tony! Babe let me prove myself to you! Please!?" "I think you already have. " She continues to follow me to the front desk. "Done so soon?" "Yes, Becky." "Sign out here." She hands me a clipboard with a pen attached and I sign out. She looks at the name and then at me. "No way. Tony Rivers?" "Rivera but yes the supernerd in the flesh." "This is super trippy." "Don't ignore me Tony.",Gen says. "Hey, Becky, did you still want to grab something?" "Yes." "I would like to join you. There's been an...opening in my schedule." "Really?" "Goodnight and have an enjoyable life Genevieve, send Josh my best." "NO! You are not walking away from me like that Tony Rivera!!Come back and give me a second chance! People make mistakes! I need you! Don't walk out on me now! TONY!!!!!!" I saw her drop to her knees and start crying. "Jeez, what a stupid ragazza." "Sorry?" "It means girl in Italian." "You're Italian." "Let's just enjoy this dinner." "I'm down with that too.",Becky said.

Harmony

"What a prick!" I'd read Shelby's column. Maria and Ivy tried to console me. "Fuck him girl. He was low down when you met hom why should he change?" "Because he loves me maybe?" "Girl, Josh Carrington doesn't love. He's a hit it and quit it type." I picked up my phone and dialed Josh's number. "Hey babe." "We are done! Asshole! You used to date my ex best friend and didn't tell me?" "Harmony, honey this is Gen." "You're a liar. You could've said that you guys had a past." "I didn't think that was important." "You know what, both of you can burn in hell." I hung up  and looked at Maria and Ivy. "Well you can sit with us at lunch." "Thanks guys.

Parker

I woke up super bubbly. "You alright buddy?" "Emmett I feel good hell I feel great!" "Why?" "I've been dumped." "The wicked bitch of the west called it quits on you?" "Hell yeah!" "Awesome!" "I would love to celebrate the single life with you but me and the Tony have an intense workout ahead of us. "Rivers?" "Rivera. But yes that guy." "Seriously. You're workouts are crazy intense." "Parker, have you seen him lately?  The kids a machine." He pulls up a  picture on his laptop. "That's us on the training grounds the other day." "Wow. That kid is a machine." "We're like best bros." "Aren't we best bros?" "No we're blood bros. More important and set aside for kin only. He's been classified an X-class monster. They don't know what he is yet. " "Crazy." "He's in his true form. The kid's basically a buff ball of pure energy." "I wish I could be a ball of energy." "You should come work out with us. You're al little on the scrawny side bro." "I'm naturally scrawny." "Nah, that's bullshit. Tony used to be scrawny and now he's like a wrestler on steroids. No excuses." "Fine."

Josh

" He dumped me." "That's bad for me how?" "I'm losing everything." "This is the perfect time for my second chance." "I do believe in second chances. So I guess so." "Alright, so you're rocking with me now?" "Yeah, I rocks with you."
