Chapter Three

Genevieve

Me and Josh have kind of a rocky past. It's a little bit of a Romeo and Juliet situation between us. With me being a vampire and him being a shifter, we aren't  exactly supposed to be lovers.  Past lovers.  It started about two years ago. 7th grade, middle class, Glendale academy. Josh and I had been best friends for years.  He finally mustered up enough courage one day to just ask me out. I said yes of course because even then Josh was cool and hot. As for the Tony situation, believe it or not Tony and Josh used to be friends. As you can see Tony is a little protective of me because even then he liked me, and now that i see this jerkier side of Josh Im starting to accept the fact that I like him too. I might even love him.  Let's not speak too soon though. Unfortunately for me at the time  I didnt really know what i wanted.  Josh or Tony. My head said Josh,but my Heart said Tony. So I followed my heart, like a naive young girl in love. Harmony walked up to me. "Gen. Im freaking out here!" "Calm down speedy. Does this perchance have anything to do Josh?" She sighs and leans against her locker. "Yes, this has everything to do with Josh.  I don't know what to do." "Look it is completely normal to have a crush on Josh. " "Gen, he practically asked me out in front of the whole school."  "Well do you like him?"  "He's cute and all but he's too self absorbed and cocky." "I'm glad you realize that now. So do you think you like him enough to become his mate?" " Genevieve, I'm serious. I have never been in a relationship with a monster before. ""Technically Josh doesn't qualify as a monster he's more of a... " "Genevieve!! " "Sorry. " "How do you and Tony do things?" " We don't, we're just friends...." "Sure." "Look just go out with Josh and be done." "I know that's sarcasm. Look if you didn't want me to date him, you could really just say so." "No, I want you to do what makes you happy." " Okay. I'm gonna say Yes." " Great. " "Is it 3rd period yet?" " Not yet. 4 minutes. " Honestly the small talk was killing me. She was NOT going to shut up. The bell finally rang and mutants filed out and back into classrooms.  I stood with my foot against the lockers. Harmony stood beside me looking sweet like always. Tony walked up and picked me up. "Tony!" He buried his face in my neck and kissed it. "WHAT in the hell are you so happy about?",I ask. "I upgraded. Now I'm Class 14 Grade C!!" " That's great doll, really. " " I'm one test away from Class 15. That's an F-class monster. " "I'm an F-class. " " I know. I gotta go. See you at lunch." "Okay. " He joins a group of kids headed for the computer lab. "Just friends huh?" ,Harmony says coyly. " Yes. Now mind your own business, Josh is coming this way. " Josh walked down the hall in front of Parker and the other Hardy's.  Students parted like the red sea for them. Josh whispered something to Parker and he followed Josh to where we were standing.  "Well aren't you looking radiant today.", Josh said. "Yup this is the leather jacket. The one you gave me. And these boots ,My grandmother bought me these." "I like your jacket.",Parker says. "Thanks. Black is my favorite color." " Mine too." Josh turned his attention to Harmony. "So what'll it be? If you let me walk you to Fritz's class and sit in the back with me that means we're an item. If none of that ever happens, I will be upset. Very sad and upset. Depression will sink in. " "I say we do it." " Great." They stalk off. "He still treats you like shit bro? " "Oh Yeah. " " I'm surprised you didn't drink his blood.  I would have. " " I know you're with Tony right now but can I walk you to class?" " Yeah, sure and for the record, Tony's not my boyfriend." "Really, you two are like soul mates." "No. We're just friends." "Okay." We start to walk down the hall towards the stairs. People were watching. I knew by lunch time all of this will have gotten back to Tony and Harmony. "You and Alice still a thing?" "I don't know." "What do you mean?" "I mean we haven't talked in a while." " She must be in a mood." I guess, lately I've been staying out of her business." "So this is just a gentleman thing?" " I can admit I do have a high respect for those of the opposite sex." "Right." We climb the stairs and make a left. "Did you find a partner? For Chemistry I mean." " No,I was gonna ask Josh but he's working with Harmony." " I was going to work with Harmony. I guess we could work together." "I would like that." "Cool." We get into the classroom jut as the bell rings. I walk to my seat next to Harmony. Harmony slams her notepad into the seat. "What the hell?" "I'm saving this seat for Josh." "I sit here everyday." "Go sit with Parker." "Really" "Look it's not personal it's just that I really really like Josh." "You're lucky I like you.," I say walking over to sit with Parker. "Me again." "Hello there." "What exactly has you so mellow today?" "I'm always mellow." "No, you're normally on edge about something." "Really." "Witches and vampires can read one another." "True." "I read that you are seriously digging Tony's vibe but you are worried about what people will think. By people I mean Josh and by Josh I mean your ex. By your ex, I mean the ex that is dating the new girl who happens to be your best friend. So you withdraw yourself and now you're trying to stick on to me yet I am repelling you." "That was good." "And true." Professor Hectate walked in ans started passing out study guides. "I do hope you are sitting with your prtner because if not ,this assignment will be fairly difficult," Professor H said. That was the cue for the class to shift around. "We can move to another table if you want." "No this is fine." "This assignment is called getting to know you." "Cliché!",Josh said using a cough to cover up his comment. The class snickered. I turn around. "Can you stop being a loser? Some of us are trying to learn here. " "What's the matter Genny, can't move on?" "That has n nothing to do with anything. So shut up right now or...or..." "Or what witch girl you gonna hex me?" "You fucking..." Parker grabbed my arm as I stood up. "Remember not to waste your energy on people who don't care."  I shoot a look at the Professor asking if I could step out, he nods. Parker looks back at Josh disaprovingly before following me out. "Gen, wait!" I slow down so he can catch up with me. "Where the hell are you going?" "Honestly, I have no idea." "Follow me." He takes off running .A second later he's down the hall. "Sorry, vampire speed." He runs back and grabs my hand. "You ready?" "For what?" "You could get "splinched". " "I've been splinched before." "Let's avoid that though." "Get on my back." "Come again?" "My back...get on it. piggyback style." I climb on and before I could say anything else, we were outside the janitor's closet. "Parker,what exactly is this?" Parker opens the door. "After you." "Parker, you have a girlfriend." "Says who?" I walk in and he walks behind me and closes the door. I turn the light on. "We won't be needing that." He turns it back off and pulls me close. His warm lips pressed up agaisnt my neck. His strong arms held me and I was instantly pushed back in time to the day I gave up my virginity to an asshole that didn't care. "Wait, how do I know you won't leave me alone afterwards?" "I swear to you. You won't be alone." "Okay." My mind and body began to submit to Parker's motions. I hadn't been intimate with anyone in a while but was soon reminded of how good it felt. To be loved. Well, to feel loved.
