He sat bored in his chair eyes fixed on the sniveling wretch before him, the man was being held down on his knees by the two warriors on either side of him, he took in his appearance with barely concealed disgust. He could smell the vermin from where he sat the stench curled around his nostrils making him draw in his breath, the smell of rotting flesh was palpable, he had pissed himself and reeked of fear the evidence of the torture the man had endured was covering his body. His lips were dry and cracked, his hair matted and caked in blood and filth.
The man's hands were held shakily in front of him giving the appearance of a begging dog, though in reality, he knew it was to ease the man's pain, his fingers having all been crushed they were swollen and black with gangrene. He had not had him treated after all why treat the already dead, he wanted information from the man but he had no intention of letting him live The information he had gotten from him had hardly been worth the effort. He stood up from his chair and approached the man squatting down he grabbed a fist full of his hair to raise his head, my guards have told me you have not been very cooperative,
"I just r...r..rent h...h...horses sir I do n...n...not know anything please let me go".
The Alpha Sighed "Well I suppose if that truly is all you know then I guess we should help you on your way"
"Th...th..thank you" the man squeaked "Th..thank you" The man's eyes widened in terror as the Alpha's razor-sharp claws extended and sliced him across his throat. his body dropped to the floor, gurgling sounds coming from him as he struggled to breathe. Blood, his blood bubbling frothy from his lips and pooling beneath his head onto the floor.
"Get rid of that, and send in the girl I want this mess cleaned up". Gregor snarled coldly.
The guards lifted the body from the floor and dragged it from the room, nodding to the young woman waiting outside the door head bowed hands clutching a bucket and rags. She hurried into the room quietly settling herself on her knees. She began mopping up the blood and urine from the floor, her eyes darted nervously as the alpha stood with his back to her. Terrified the girl trembled chewing her lip anxiously, the blood was not coming out of the wood on the floor she wrung out the cloth into the metal bucket and began scrubbing frantically at the stain but it would not budge.
licking her lips she spoke, "I ... I...it will not come out Alpha" she stood up quickly bowing her head as the alpha turned to look at her, she heard him walking towards her slowly she begun to shake uncontrollably. He placed a hand at the back of her head softly almost gently raking her scalp, before clutching a handful of hair he yanked back her head "Who gave you permission to speak to me"
''S.Sorry alpha'' she squeaked terrified "The b.b.blood I cannot get it out" she stammered shaking in his grasp.
Her head snapped as he slapped her across the face blood sprayed across his face as her lip burst. "Guard!"
Instantly a guard burst through the door, "Take this bitch out of here and get someone who can do their job in here. Give her to the watch they can have some fun with her".
"The guard nodded and turned walking out of the room and dragging the terrified girl by the arm.
"And when they have had their fun get rid of the useless bitch". he called after the guard as he reached the door.
Wiping the girl's blood from his face, The Alpha picked up the message again, Kellen had sent it weeks before and he had wasted no time sending men to pick up the humans Kellen had thought may have information. He had been housing them in his cells for weeks, a livery merchant, a farrier, and a tavern landlord. the merchant was dead and he had just disposed of the farrier, Kellen had wasted his time with them they knew nothing. The landlord though, now that had proved an altogether more interesting conversation. He was only still alive because he may have more information that he might be persuaded to give up. It always amazed him how people always remembered more with persuasion. From his last message, Kellan had said the man and boy he was tracking had entered the plains to the North. he had heard nothing since, he was not too bothered though the plains were sparsely populated and vast there were few towns and villages for them to hide in kellen would send another message soon with news he was sure of it.
