Remember that Starbucks copycat vanilla bean frappé I told you about? Well, my brother wanted one and I wanted to try adding cinnamon to it. That's what we did. So, there's still the sugar substitute (it's called monkfruit sweetener and a small bag costs more than a small bag with an equal amount of sugar), ice, and vanilla. The only other change we made for his diet was the milk. We used vanilla almond milk and we discovered it didn't yield as much as the original recipe and it wasn't as thick. So, we added more of the monkfruit sweetener, more cinnamon, and a few tablespoons of powdered sugar so it's now extra sweet and the vanilla almond milk added more vanilla flavoring. Then, we added more ice and she is now really thick. These are so thick that we decided to use metal smoothie/boba straws instead of the smaller plastic ones that came with our tumblers for these. Morale of the story is alter the recipe accordingly so you can still get the same amount, consistency, and flavor while taking someone's dietary needs into account.
