A cool idea I had

My bro and I were talking about edgy-looking, evil doppelgangers of popular heroic protagonists and it got me thinking a little bit. What if that happened to my OCs? What if other canon characters had edgy, evil doppelgangers? What would a doppelganger that's supposed to be evil and still the opposite of an edgy hero/hero that is known for their alt culture of fashion look like? I'm not talking about AUs because Underfell exists and so do countless other AUs where everyone is the opposite of who or what they are. Pixelle already foils Uniqua but, she's not a doppelganger. You can still tell which is which from behind and even at a distance. I'm talking about the overly friendly, bubbly, extroverted normie/pastel goth that still resembles her and plays all her positive traits up to impersonate her and make others believe the sarcastic introverted punk who guzzles down root beer and does dumb shtick daily is the fake. Think of it like Nemesis Prime and Optimus Prime or Shadow and Sonic but, just reverse it and you'll start to see where I'm going with this. Instead of assuming the hero is committing crimes, people will see a villain performing way more acts of heroism than the actual hero and believe the hero took on a new look and decided to up their game while a wannabe or advanced cosplayer trashes the hero's name and reputation by doing the bare minimum as a person. While the doppelganger puts up a false front in public when they aren't saving the world, they will still be able to trap the hero and set them up for failure to make them look bad. This could lead to the whole plan backfiring very quickly because they are simultaneously destroying and building the hero's reputation or the followers and fans of the hero divide based on which version of the hero they prefer and the two sides bicker over which one should be the true face of the hero.

What I'm saying is that evil doppelgangers don't always have to appear edgy or sport a darker color palette or even just black and red. They also don't have to be jerks to everyone. They could be way friendlier to make heroes second guess themselves about their morals and they could just have alternate style choices and aesthetics or wear something that's the opposite of what the hero does. As long as they still look like your hero or character but are the exact opposite of them and exist in the same universe, they're still a doppelganger. It's all about finding ways to twist the original trope a little while still keeping the core concept there. Feel free to try this with characters that are already neutral, protags that are jerks, or even anti-heroes and tag me to them.

I tried to put this on my board but, I exceeded the character limit.
