"Thank you".

Finally, I said those two magical words to him, after so much of hesitation and dilemma.

I took a deep breath and moved my eyes towards him, to see him smirking. Asshole.

" Mention not, dear wife. By the way, you can say thank you with a smile too. Aaj subah hi kisi ne mujhse kaha tha 'It's good to smile and be fun-loving sometimes. Smiling is the best way to face every problem, crush every fear, and hide every pain.'" He said giving me a smug look.

( This morning only someone said to me that)

I gritted my teeth remembering that these were the same words, which I said to him this morning.

Meri hi baatein mujhe chipka rahen hai.

" Joke aside, No one has the right to say something wrong about my wife. Not even our family."

The word ' Wife ' was enough to make my heart flutter and the way he said those words with seriousness in his eyes. It was like he was assuring me that, he would be always beside me in any situation.

When he didn't get any response from me, he switched off the main light,  "Good night, firefly. It's late."

I nodded saying, " Good night" and lay on my side of the bed, while he was working on his laptop on the other side.

I tilted my head towards him, "are you not going to sleep?"

" I will, after some time, you carry on," he replied still looking at his precious second wife. Mr. Laptop.

I once again nodded and slept, back facing him.

Sun rays fell into my face through the window waking me up from my deep slumber. Slowly I opened my eyes. The first thing that came into my mind was to check the clock beside me. Quickly I turned myself towards my right side. It was 7:30 Am. Thank god. I sighed.

I tried to get up from the bed to get ready for the day, but something was pulling me towards the mattress. My gaze went towards my waist, then tilted my head towards my left.

There my husband was sleeping holding onto me. My eyes widened.

Does he even know, what is he doing?

Oh, common on Purvi, how will he know? He is sleeping, right?

My subconscious mocked me.

By the way, see how good-looking he is. How is it even possible that a man like this exists in the real world? I mean they are all fictional, right?

Suddenly he shifted his hand from my waist towards my higher abdomen. It brought me back to the real world.

Slowly I put his hand on my pillow, not waking him up. I hurriedly went towards the washroom.

I did my business in the bathroom. Then I draped myself in a saree. Though my mother-in-law assured me that, it was not necessary to wear a saree. But still, I did, because my mom said to wear it for some days, as I am a newly wedded girl.
