Sitting there in the living room, I was listening to all of their conversations and was only talking when someone would ask me something.

I got to know from my family and the guest's discussion that Avyukt was the one who came to see me there and Abhinav was his younger brother. The guy with those deep brown eyes was Avyukt and the other one who smiled at me was Abhinav.

I was constantly feeling a deep gaze on me, but I was successful in ignoring a pair of deep brown eyes.

" I think we should let Avyukt and Purvi talk with each other. Kyun ki saari zindagi toh unhi dono ko ek saath bitani hai na." his grandfather said in between a conversation looking at my grandfather.

(Because both of them have to spend their whole life together, don't they?)

'Saari Zindagi, oh god I have not even said yes to this marriage, and his grandfather was thinking about, us spending our whole life with each other.' I thought about his sentence with a frown on my face.

"Han Han, kyun nhi." my grandfather replied and asked me to take him to our balcony.

(sure why not?)

'Why am I feeling like, it's a movie scene' A sudden thought came into my mind.

I signed Avyukt to come behind me. I was nervously moving towards the balcony knowing he was following behind.

When we reached there, he cleared out his throat.

I tilted my face to look at him, his eyes were on me. Now I could see his face from nearby, he really was good-looking.
With a straight nose, pink lips, black hair with a little tint of brown colour in it and a fair complexion, he was wearing a black and white suit which made him look like the fictional man in a romance novel, that I had read since my teenage.

He did not look fully Indian, obviously his mother was a foreigner. So, he was the perfect mixture of his Indian father and Spanish mother, as I got to know from their conversation earlier that his mother is from Spain.

There was a long silence between us, but he broke it with his deep and masculine voice, " Look, I want to make everything clear to you, before you or I take any kind of decision. I do not wish to marry this soon, but my dada ji wanted to see me get settled as soon as possible. My main focus for now is to develop our company here, as we shifted here from Spain 2 years ago, as per Dada Ji's desire. I will try to make this marriage work but, my main for now is my career. So, If you don't have any problem with that, then I am okay with this marriage."

He stopped saying and looked at me for an answer.

After giving it a thought I replied," I understand your dedication to your work, I just want to do a job, I did a Master's in English literature and then I pursued an MBA too. So, I do not want to sit at home and cook. That's it."

He looked at me for some seconds then nodded, "Okay I get it, but why double M.A., no offence but why study double when you could have just gotten a job with an MBA degree?"

" It's just that I love English literature and reading novels is my favourite hobby. However, I wanted to seek a career in business administration, so I did both." I replied to him with a bit of confidence and thanked god, he didn't ask me, Why haven't I got a job yet?

He nodded, All this time his face was straight there was no expression in it, but one thing that could never lie, which was someone's eyes, his eyes were so deep like there was something in them, which I was not able to understand.

"Then, shall we go downstairs, if you do not want to say or ask anything more? I actually have a very important meeting today," he asked straightforwardly.

I didn't know, what to say, so I nodded at him and we both moved towards downstairs.

When we arrived there, everyone was alert like they were for planning something behind our backs and didn't want us to know.

His grandmother was the first one who smiled at us, "Hogaya beta jaan liye ek dusre ko."

(Okay beta, do you get to know each other?)

' How could I just know someone in just 30 minutes, we didn't even talk to each other perfectly, thanks to your grandson.' I thought to myself but smiled at her.

"Yes, we did talk with each other. I am really sorry, but I have a very important meeting with some special clients today. So I have to take my leave." The first he said looking at his grandmother, then he turned his face towards my dada ji and papa, apologizing to them.

" It's okay beta, we understand, work is very important," he said to him with a smile.

He left for his office, not before looking towards me and nodding his head.

After half an hour, his family left too. Now it was only my family and I. Without saying or listening to anyone I left for my room.

It had been two days since the first meeting, my family gave me two days to think about this proposal. But how would I explain to them that just two days were not enough to make a big decision in life. I had to spend my whole with someone, how could I decide it only in 48 hours?

I did like his honesty and straightforwardness, but still, I didn't know him well.

I was thinking on my balcony thinking about the proposal, when both of my parents entered.

They sat parallel to me. My father started the conversation, "Purvi, I know it is not easy to make a life decision in just a couple of hours, but it is really a good proposal. We may not get a proposal like this in the near future. Their family is good and reputed. Even the guy is hardworking and running his own business."

He paused and then, looked toward my mother, who nodded at him, After taking a long breath he once again started talking, "They said yes to the marriage. I want you to think seriously about this marriage proposal, We want to give you some more time to think but, his grandfather wants this marriage to happen as soon as possible."

It had been like 8 years since he talked to me with this much warmness in his voice. I was yearning for this all these years.

If from my one 'yes', I would get my old version of dad back then, I would do this for him, for my family.

My father was about to leave when I said, "Yes, I am okay with this marriage."
