Everyone has been waiting outside the O.T. for the past two hours. Nitya is standing at a corner staring at the door of O.T blankly. She hasn't said a word or shed a tear after coming to the hospital.
Mahima and Maithili were crying constantly while Virendra, Dev, and Ankita were trying to console them, holding back their own emotions.
Akshay and Rohan are standing there tensed, waiting for the news and occasionally checking on everyone. Soon, the door of O.T opened, revealing Saanvi.
"Saanvi!" Mahima called.
"Kaisa hai mera bacha? Thik hai na vo! Please tell me, Saanvi! Aise chup kyu khadi hai please kuch bol na! Aahan thik hai na?" Mahima asked while tears flowed continuously through her eyes.
"We... couldn't.... sa.... save him.... he.... aahan.... he is.... n..no... mo..re." Saanvi informed, choking on her own tears.
"Wh...at! what are you saying, beta? How..... co... could... he... he.. you shouldn't joke...!" Mahima said as she fell on her knees and broke into more and more tears.
Virendra hugged Mahima, trying to console her, but started crying along with her. Maithli and Dev were numb. Aahan was like son to them too. They lost their son, and the fact that a part of their daughter's heart is gone along with him broke then even more.
Akshay was trying to console Ankita, while Rohan hugged Saanvi tightly, knowing that she must be devastated seeing Aahan die in front of her own eyes.
The moment Rohan hugged her, she broke into loud sobs while tears were flowing from Rohan's eyes.
"He... he died.... in... in front of me! I... i failed.... to save...hi...him.... i failed... as a doctor.... as... as a friend! I... failed." Saanvi said, continuously crying while rohan mumbled, "it wasn't your fault, " while patting her back.
In all this, Nitya was just standing in a corner, looking at everything blankly. She hadn't spoken to anyone after the accident, and now she was looking at everyone lost and with no emotions.
Nitya looked inside the room, where Aahan's lifeless body was lying. She went inside and stood beside him. She started caressing his cheeks.
"Wake up...... please." She whispered barely audible.
"You said you'd be back before i know!" She again whispered.
"Or... or at least take me with you." She again whispered, looking at him with so much hope as if he would really wake up or take her with him.
"Please tell me it is a stupid prank of yours, and you are absolutely fine." She whispered as her voice cracked and heart broke with every word.
"I... i know it's.... it's a nightmare! Ye..ah. I'll wake up soon and realize that i overslept, and it was just a nightmare. Everything will be the way it was supposed to be!" Nitya whispered in her cracked voice.
When Akshay realized that nitya was nowhere to be found, he made Ankita sit on a chair and make her drink some water. She was still crying, but right now, he needed to find Nitya and so started looking for her.
He was scared that she would end up doing something stupid. He looked for her everywhere, only to find her standing beside aahan's body. He goes to her and pulls her in a hug to comfort her.
She didn't hug him back and stood in his embrace, motionless still not shedding a single tear.
"Are you okay?" Akshay asked, not knowing what to say. Nitya just nodded and turned towards aahan and started caressing his hair.
