The weather was scorching. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to go for your daily run today. But then again, it's not common to have the luxury to run down the beach every day. You finished the last drop of water your bottle had to spare, getting ready for the long dreadful walk back to your apartment.

About five minutes into your dreadful walk, you came across a small green and pink ice cream parlor. It looked like one of those cliche ones that your parents would try to keep you from seeing, so that they didn't have to hear you whine.

Luckily, you were smart for once and shoved a 20 dollar bill into your pocket on your way out just in case. Ice cream was a just in case moment. But to no surprise, the line was quite long. There was 7 people in front of you. Dancing on the thin line of too many to wait in the heat for.

Finally, after you listened to way to many strangers ice cream orders, you reached the front of the line.  Behind the window frame was a cute boy with spiky pink hair who looked about your age. You'd be lying if you weren't embarrassed about the fact that you were sweaty and sticky.

"What can I getcha?" His tone was cheery as he looked at you with a big grin, taking in your appearance as he leaned against the counter. "A scoop of..." Your eyes scanned the small menu like stand on the counter. While you decided, the boys eyes traced your features. He felt his face start to heat up, which he hoped you would think was the cause of the weather.

"Strawberry, please." You smiled, a way of trying to come of as friendly. Though, your smile almost killed the poor guy. "Alright, just a second!" He winked, making you impossibly flush and add to the redness on your cheeks. "Cup or cone?" He asked, his tone light as he grabbed the ice cream scoopers.

"Cup, please." You didn't have time for the ice cream to melt in a cone and cover your fingers in a sticky pink substance. "Cone." He repeated, mostly to his self as he grabbed a cup off the stack and then started to scoop your strawberry delight.

Once he was done, he sat it on the counter, along with a napkin that seemed to have something scribbled on it. "On the house." He smiled, making you feel something at the sight. "Thanks, I appreciate it." You returned the smile, taking the spoon he started to give you. His hand was gloved, of course. Your fingers brushed, and even though it was skin-to-latex, you felt some kind of spark.

The pink haired boys' smile turned more sheepish as he scooted your ice cream to you. "Have a lovely day, ma'am." He waved as you walked away, continuing your dreadful walk home in this heat.

By the time you got home, you had finished your ice cream. You tossed the cup and the spoon in a trash can inside your kitchen as you got ready to wipe the small bit of ice cream that remained on your lip off. That was until you noticed something messily scribbled onto the corner of it.

XXX-XXX-XXXX

Don't feel pressured to call me!
(Please do, though)

That's fucking adorable.

You paced around your small apartment, trying to decide what to do. That was when you got an idea that was probably stupid. You called a friend, and asked for her advice. You told her the situation in over exaggerated detail, including the winking and the hand touching.

After she laughed at you, she told you to shoot your shot, because she was tired of you whining about being single. Asshole. But at least you had the confirmation you needed to finally call the boy.

With a heavy heart, you dialed the number and anxiously waited as the phone rang. Your heart was practically in your ass when you heard a familiar voice speak from the other side of the line. "Hello?" One simple word made you regret all of your choices.

You bit your lip, thinking it wasn't too late to go back, but you ended up doing it. "Hi...Is this the guy from, uh, the ice cream place?" Your voice was shaky, causing you to mentally kill yourself as you waited for a reply.

"Hooly shit. You actually called me?" He sounded excited, making you smile as you walked towards your living room to sit down. "I'm Yuji. Yuji Itadori." Yuji itadori. You repeated the name in your head before realizing you haven't said anything. Whoops.

"I'm [Name]. [Name] [Surname]. Nice to meet you, Itadori." You were giddy about the fact that a guy actually wanted to talk to you. You grabbed your tv remote, needing some kind of noise as you talk to the stranger.

"Nice to meet you too. I know I'm probably overstepping, but I suck at talking over the phone. Would you like to go out for dinner with me some time? My treat." He sounded so much calmer then you, which almost made you ashamed. It took you a second to finally let his words sink in.

He wanted to go out with you. He wanted to go out with you. The words kept flashing in your mind over and over again, like some kind of emergency. It took you a second to realize that you haven't been saying anything, so you finally spoke up. "I would love to." Was all that you could get out of your mouth.

Over the line, you heart a barely audible 'Yes!' which made your heart flutter. "Great! Uhm, wow I didn't think I'd get this far." He let out a embarrassed laugh as he continued. "Is that one pizza place tomorrow at five okay?"

"Sounds good to me." You replied, your foot bouncing with excitement as you heard a sigh of relief over the phone. "Great! See you then!" was all you heard in an excited tone before the call ended. Your cheeks were hurting from smiling so much, but at least you wouldn't be complaining about being single for much longer.

Redid this chapter because I didn't like it, and I'll be redoing the others tomorrow when I get a chance.

Xoxo, bye!
