{Levi's POV}

The tribunal began.
The heads of the Military Police stood at my side as I stared at Mercy. She was chained to a post before my eyes and the sight made my heart bitter. Just the thought of those cold cuffs being around her wrist made my stomach turn.

    Eren and his gang along with Hange were all on the other side staring at me with regretful eyes

Eren and his gang along with Hange were all on the other side staring at me with regretful eyes.
Premier Zachary sat at the high table and stared down at Mercy with indifferent and unbiased eyes.
"I already know why we're brought here, but would my councils like to make an opening statement before we begin?" Premier Zachary asked as he continually stared down Mercy.

    "Sir, we would like to exonerate Mercy for her crimes and repent for her transgressions by leading the war with her strength," Hange began which made the crowds murder slightly

"Sir, we would like to exonerate Mercy for her crimes and repent for her transgressions by leading the war with her strength," Hange began which made the crowds murder slightly. "We are aware of her acts against Levi Ackerman and the people on his squad, but we ask that you overlook them and see her as a weapon against the Marlians and against the Underground revolt that is underway."
Zachary thought about this for a moment before he looked to the head of the Military Police.
"Sir, we wish to have Mercy executed or behind bars for the rest of her life," he began as he stared down Hange and I felt my blood boiling. "She is too unpredictable to be left to chance, and her acts against the people of this town were heinous. She is far too dangerous to be kept out in the open and we wish to bring her to justice."
I can't believe I'm on their side.
"I see your intentions," Zachary began before he looked to Mercy. "And what do you have to say on the matter, Merciana Sheehan?"
I watched as Mercy flinched at the sound of her name, and my skin went cold as she opened her mouth to speak.
"If you must kill me then I implore you to do so," she began. "If you must put me behind bars for the rest of my life then go ahead, but the fact of the matter is that I am too useful to this squad and this regiment to have either done to me. I need to be on the front lines fighting for my people. That is where I belong."
