History
Excel Entertainment was founded on October 23, 2014 by Hwang Jin-Young.
In 2018, the label's first-ever artist, group named VG, composed of Jina, Chunja and Bora, released their first digital single album titled "POISON".
In 2020, the label's second group "DIVINE" was formed composed of Reewon, Soa, Miko, Seol, Jina, Chunja and Bora. The group was active until April 2021 during their trial against the agency.
Truth behind the departure of Excel Entertainment
This one had not paid them since their debut and mistreated members. DIVINE officially moved agency on April 21, 2021.
They didn't pay them and overworked them at the point members were mistreated. The company also did not want them to have more than one comeback a year and not a single one full album. The group had been having a huge success and being eagerly awaited, they couldn't leave the situation like this. At the start of April 2021, the members initiated a procedure to leave the label. On April 21, they won the lawsuit and the departure was accepted. DIVINE's members established their own label the same day named DVN Company.
