Background
Bora met Kim Dohyun in the spring of 2020 through mutual friends in the SM trainee network. At the time, Dohyun was one of the most talked-about names among pre-debut trainees, talented, charismatic, and already rumored to be part of SM's next big project. Bora, meanwhile, had just started making her mark as a young idol with DIVINE's early big success.
Their worlds overlapped naturally, what began as casual conversation over shared friends turned into something more personal. They bonded over late-night training frustrations, favorite K-pop artists, and jokes about how little sleep they got.
Even with a small age gap, Dohyun came across as confident and experienced, while Bora was still discovering who she was outside of her group. He made her feel seen, like he understood the chaos she was living in before she even explained it.
By August 2020, he asked her out, and she said yes.
The Relationship For Bora, it was her first real relationship.
