Background
Seol and Seon had been friends since childhood, growing up in the same neighborhood. They were inseparable, spending afternoons riding bikes, playing arcade games, and challenging each other to the most ridiculous dares.
Their friendship was effortless, and everyone around them assumed they would eventually end up together. But neither of them saw each other romantically, at least, not until middle school.
When Seol turned 13, something changed. She noticed the way Seon had grown taller, the way his voice had deepened, the way he laughed differently when they were alone. And Seon started seeing Seol differently too, she wasn't just his childhood best friend anymore; she was the girl he wanted to protect, the one who made his heart race.
They officially started dating in July 2016, after Seon confessed first. It wasn't a grand, dramatic moment. They were just sitting on swings in the neighborhood park, talking about their day, when he suddenly turned to her and said:
"I think I like you more than a friend." Seol blinked. "You do?" He nodded, nervous. "Yeah. And... I think you like me too." She looked away, biting her lip before smiling. "Yeah... I do."
And that was it. They became a couple, simple, natural, easy. Their relationship was sweet and innocent, full of inside jokes and stolen moments in between school and training.
But as time passed, things started to change. By 2019, both Seol and Seon had started focusing on their careers.
Seol was training hard for her idol debut, while Seon was preparing for university. They saw each other less and less, and eventually, their romantic feelings faded. They still cared deeply for each other, but it was different now, more like family than lovers.
