How it all began
Jina and Sunwoo first met in high school, when both were 15. At the time, Sunwoo was already a star swimmer on the school's competitive swim team, and when Jina entered her fourth year, she decided to join the team as well.
Training side by side, they quickly developed a close friendship. At first, their bond was purely about pushing each other in the pool, splitting lanes, racing intervals, analyzing splits. But over time, something shifted.
Jina was the first to fall. It started as admiration, watching how focused and disciplined he was in the water, how effortlessly he glided through the lanes, how his quiet confidence never crossed into arrogance.
But what really captivated her was how Sunwoo supported her. Whether it was correcting her dive entry, hyping her up after a disappointing meet, or encouraging her through idol training, he was always there.
What Jina didn't know was that Sunwoo fell even harder. For him, it was gradual. It began with noticing the little things, the way her eyes lit up when she talked about something she loved, how she never gave up on a tough set, how she gave her full energy to school, swimming, and her idol career.
But the moment he knew he had completely fallen? It was watching her perform. Seeing her on stage, radiant under the lights, dancing and singing like she was born for it. In that moment, he thought, She's incredible.
