The meeting between the board took 3 hours. By the end of it, they congratulated him for his engagement. Minjeong went out of the conference room feeling drained.
"Coffee? I've found a great cafe spot and the cakes there. Oh my lord," Yizhuo offered him a cup. "You really ought to stop surprising me like that. I could've died, you know."
"From what? Boredom? I swore they were not alive by their reactions. Well, up until you pointed out the missing budget," Yizhuo chuckled.
Minjeong sighed, "Yeah. They still see me as the kid who ran around the hotel causing ruckus." A small smile appeared on his face.
"Let's go home now. I need to get ready for the meeting with Karina's manager."
"Speaking of Karina , do you think, um, Aeri is single?" Yizhuo asked.
"I knew you were interested in her! Come with me later, maybe you could have a talk with her later?" Minjeong replied.
They arrived in front of the room, his door open ajar. "Stay here, Minjeong." Yizhuo opened the door slowly, a small figure could be seen on the living room couch.
Minjeong couldn't help but he felt familiar with the figure. "Jennie? What are you doing here?"
"Hah! There you are. Did you know how hard I had to convince the reception that I am related to you?" Jennie said. "Father sent me here to accompany you. Can't leave the golden baby boy all alone. And when I arrived here, I heard the news that you were engaged from mother. Explain."
Minjeong stuttered, "Um, it's better if you come with me later. The meeting will be held at 3, then you'll know everything."
He went up to his room, leaving Yizhuo and Jennie alone. He took a quick shower to freshen himself. He dried himself o! and decided to take a quick nap. His head has been throbbing ever since the meeting. He set the alarm for 2:30PM. 30 minutes extra for him to prepare himself.
He woke up around 2:45PM, "Yizhuo! Why didn't you wake me? We're late now." He shouted.
In his hurry, he grabbed a plain black polo, along with black slacks. He brushed his teeth as quickly as he could. Combing his hair messily.
"Have you seen my glasses?" Minjeong yelled out.
"In your room! Placed it next to your bed," Yizhuo replied.
Late, late, late. He uttered under his breath.
He went downstairs, staring at Yizhuo and Jennie , still chit chatting about the new cafe Yuri found earlier. "Let's go now. Hurry up."
Minjeong led them out. His steps gradually getting bigger. He pressed the elevator button. The duo he left behind finally reached up to him.
"Bit too eager, aren't you?" Jennie taunted.
"Be on your best behaviour, lads." he demanded.
Both Yizhuo and Jennie laughed, "We're not cavemen, you know? We're not going to run around destroying her place." Minjeong glared at both of them, "We're late. 8th floor, Jen."
On their way down, Jennie asked, "What's this meeting about anyway? And is it okay with them if I tail along?" Minjeong shrugged his shoulders, "I have no idea. She just said that her manager would like to see me."
They arrived in front of Karina's door, exactly at 3PM. Yizhuo pressed the doorbell, waiting patiently for the host to open the door.
"Ye-yeah hold on. Oh hello. Come on in. Hi Yizhuo," Aeri greeted them.
Minjeong couldn't help but to notice a flirtatious tone in Aeri's voice.
"Sorry to barge. This is Jennie, my sister." Minjeong introduced Jennie to Aeri.
