I looked around for something that could defend me.

That animal was staring at me, angrily, just waiting for me to take one more step so that it would attack me.

ㅡCalm down, puppy, I don't want to be hurt or hurt you ㅡI spoke between my teeth, with my hands in front of my body.

Then a noise sounded and the dog moved away and started running after the car that had passed by.

I sighed in relief and ran my hand through my hair. I took out my cell phone and was startled when I saw the time. I was late.

Arg!ㅡ I started running to the school, which, luckily for me, was just a few meters away.

I entered that place, seeing the empty corridors, a sign that classes had already started. I opened the door to my room, attracting looks from the people present and the art teacher.

ㅡExcuse me, teacherㅡ I said and she shook her head in disapproval for my delay.

I went to my desk, which was near the window, and sat down. I took my materials out of my backpack and placed them on the table.

ㅡWell, students, I hope you do this work well. I don't want drawings done haphazardly, I want something that is beautiful and well expressed. ㅡ Mr. Holland turned to us and looked directly at me.

It's not that I didn't know how to draw, it was because I didn't like to draw what I was told, but rather what I wanted.

In this case, as she asked for a free design, I could do whatever I wanted.

I took my pencil out of its case and made the first scratches on the sheet. A face was already forming, when suddenly the door to the room opened, revealing a tall boy with a serious face.

ㅡ Good morning, Erix ㅡ the teacher said and he just nodded.

Erix ran a hand through her black hair as she walked to her desk. But he stopped next to me and bowed down to my level.

ㅡ You're welcome ㅡ he whispered in my ear and sat at the desk, which was in the next row, three tables back.

I frowned and looked at him quickly. I stared at my notebook, trying to remember something he had done for me, but I couldn't. In fact, I've only seen him once in my life, as he doesn't happen that often.

I heard the little group of "rich" girls in the room laughing and looking at Erix. He had a look of disdain, looking at the painting. He didn't even take the materials out of his backpack.

I shook my head no and continued drawing. This was my last year at school, so I needed to do as many assignments as possible to get lots of points. I didn't have time to be distracted by unnecessary things.

...

After two long math classesㅡafter the art classㅡ it was time for break. As I had only been studying at that school for two weeks, I hadn't made any friends. But I didn't care about that, since I always liked to stay alone, isolated.

I sat down in the corner that I had already called mine and started eating the apple I had eaten.

At that school, everyone had their own little groups. There were the popularㅡthe richㅡ, the scholarsㅡbetter known as nerdsㅡ, the bikers and those who also preferred to be alone like me.

I saw Erix walking up to a table that was empty. However, when he sat down, those girls approached him and sat on the bench at the table where he was.

Zara, Hazel and Maeve were three girls who could very well buy an entire building with the money they had. Zara was the "leader" of the group. She was very pretty, had fair skin, green eyes, short blonde hair. She was a little taller than me and had a body that many girls would envy. Hazel was redheaded and had green eyes. Maeve had curly brown hair, olive skin and full lips. They were girls who exuded great beauty. However, they seemed to have no brains.

I watched that scene, which was starting to get fun: Erix put on his headphones when they started talking to him. They both laughed at something, which certainly wasn't funny at all, and sighed when the boy pulled the black strands of his hair back.

Erix was indeed handsome, but he wasn't my type. His very dark, slanted brown eyes gave him an "if you get close, you might not be able to escape" look. His hair was in a few waves, not too exaggerated, and his eyebrows were a little thick. In other words, it would make any girl sigh. Except me, of course.

I opened the book I had with me and started reading. It was the only thing I had to distract me, as I had forgotten to bring my cell phone.

When I was already engrossed in the scene from the book, which, by the way, was a romance, I felt someone coming to my side.

ㅡEr... ㅡHe cleared his throatㅡHiㅡhe said, a little hesitantly. I looked at the boy, whose name was Adrian. I knew this because he was also popular. Adrian was in the other third year and played basketball. He was about 6' tall and handsome. His brown hair was a bit messy. A few strands covered his thick eyebrows and that made him more attractive.

ㅡHi.ㅡI closed the book.ㅡHow can I help?

ㅡDo you want... ㅡHe cleared his throat again. ㅡ Do you want to go out with me?

I raised my eyebrows, surprise. But as soon as I looked at the table a few feet behind him, it dawned on me.

ㅡNo, thank you.ㅡI gave a half smile and went back to reading my book.

ㅡWhy not? ㅡ He seemed surprised by my answer. Of course he had never been rejected by a girl in his life.

ㅡ I don't think you wanna go out with me willingly. ㅡI pointed my head towards the table where the popular people were, who were looking surreptitiously at us.

ㅡBut I want toㅡhe said and pulled my hand towards him. I frowned. ㅡPlease, Faye, go out with me.

The bell rang, announcing the end of the break. I tried to pull my hand back, but Adrian held it tighter.

ㅡLeave her alone, Adrianㅡ Erix's hoarse voice made Adrian let go of my hand. ㅡShe's not just anyone to fall for your chats.
