It was a quiet day.
A very quiet day.
Sergio had gone to meet the Inspector again, while Atlas stayed at home and kept watch.
There was a kind of emptiness in the air. The only sound being heard were her steady breaths. Atlas had never been so bored in her lifetime before, it felt like the time was moving in slow-motion.
She stood up from her chair, heading over to the little kitchen corner and placing her cup under the coffee machine. Her finger clicked one of the two buttons and she watched as the black liquid got filled into the porcelain.
The brunette opened the door of the mini fridge, pulling a milk carton out and pouring something into the coffee, before putting it away again.
Her feet took her to the vinyl player, placed on a little shelf. Currently there was no vinyl playing. She turned to the many stocked records in a little crate. Her fingers moved through them until she found the perfect one, The Lamb from Lala Lala.
Carefully Atlas placed it onto the player and then set the needle at the start, before it started playing.
Music had always brought some kind of comfort to Atlas. She was an only child. Her parents were always working and she raised herself. After their death, she started visiting music shops and collected vinyls. She didn't have the money to buy them, so she did the only thing she was good at and stole them. All the vinyls were probably still in her room in her family's house. In the room she shared with Miguel.
Oh, Miguel.
The heist had distracted her from all the memories and his death, but there was still always the reminder in the back of her mind that he was really dead, and he was never going to come back.
Atlas fell down onto the couch, head turned to the ceiling, while the soft tunes of Destroyer were playing in the background.
She missed him.
