Benito's parents were very fond of Emilia and so were his brothers. The two would spend a great amount of time at each others houses. It wasn't till the end of sophomore year where things began to change.
As perusal Emilia was coming over. Benito for some reason was nervous. This had never happened with Emilia before. He was rummaging through his clothes indecisive on what to wear. He decided on a plain tee and some basketball shirts. Benito made sure to spray some cologne as well. He applied deodorant about ten times.
Just as he was done the doorbell rang. He practically ran to the door before anyone else could open it.
" Hola Beni." She smiled
" Hola Emi." He said returning the smile.
She was beautiful , Benito thought to himself. He could find himself getting lost in her eyes , literally because in that moment he zoned out slightly embarrassing himself. But , what he didn't know was that Emilia had always thought he was cute.
The two played video games along with his brothers. It was that day that Benito knew he had feelings for her. But , he wasn't going to make a move until he knew she felt the same. He didn't want to ruin their friendship either. Emilia was someone Benito wanted to have in his life forever.

So then that summer right before their first day of Junior year. Benito admitted his feelings to her , he got a little tired of waiting. They were young but very mature.
They were at her house alone , enjoying their last day of summer vacation. They decided to not go out because it was too hot and they were too lazy. The two were seated on her couch watching a movie. They were so comfy they hadn't realized how close they really were. It wasn't until Emilia laughed and looked at Benito. When she turned to look at him , their faces were just inches apart. He took the opportunity and quickly placed a small peck on her lips. The girl quickly reacted and leaned in for kiss a bit longer than just a peck.
" I like you." He said practicing his English
" me too." She smiled.
" quieres ser mi mejor amiga y novia?" Benito asked her
" obvio que si." Emilia squealed as they hugged.
The next day at school the two walked in hand in hand catching their friends off guard.
" es en serio?" Nicole asked
" I knew it." Raul said
It was high school and the two were experiencing love. The best part of it all was when they told their parents. Their parents were happy for them. They just hoped that nothing would ruin the amazing bond they had together.
Emilia couldn't remember the last time she felt this happy. She was happy to be with Benito. It's been her dream since she met him. It was something out of high school musical , being young, in love , and loving music.
