My head was pounding, and I didn't feel right. I opened my eyes, slowly adjusting to the bright light. As my eyes adjusted to the lighting, I realized I wasn't in my room as I thought. I looked around the room and realized I was in the hospital. I then started to remember what had happened when another pain in my head hit again. As I was about to press the button to call the doctor, I saw Charles and my mother walking into my room. As they saw me awake, my mother ran over to me and started asking me so many things, but she overwhelmed me. Charles walked back out of my room with a doctor by his side. The doctor checked me out for a while, then looked at the chart before he looked at me and smiled.
Doctor- Well, the good news is that your vitals are doing great, and you can be released in a few hours; the only major thing is that since you suffered head trauma, you might be a bit dizzy, headachy, and you have some external and internal bruising. I will prescribe you some medication for the internal bruising and some crème for the external bruising, but other than that, we will keep you for a few more hours, and then you are good to go.
Y/n- Thank you, doctor.
The doctor left, and my mother sat down next to me. Charles stood in the corner of the room, quiet. I looked at my mother, who had tears in her eyes, so I put my hand in hers to reassure her that I was okay.
Mum- How are you darling? Do you remember what happened?
Y/n- I was driving from Charles's house, and it suddenly went all black. The next thing I knew, I was here.
Mum- Did something happen before? Where you are thinking about something?
I looked at Charles, then back to my mother, and smiled at her.
Y/n- No, mum, it just happened; accidents happen.
Mum: You are not in the best shape, so we should cancel the wedding. You should take some time for yourself and make sure you get better.
Y/N—No, ma. The doctor said that I would be okay, and there were people already here, so I would force through it, and then I could have some time to rest before I moved here. Don't worry about me; I will be okay.
Mum: Well, if you say so. Let me go pick up your medication from the pharmacy, and I will be back soon. She kissed me on the head and walked out of my room. As the door closed behind her, Charles walked over to me with a guilty look on his face, standing next to my bed.
Charles, I'm sorry. This is all my fault. I was angry and confused and just lashed out at you. I shouldn't have done that. I feel really bad. It's just that I have a lot to process, and I can't really talk to anyone about it. When you started asking me, I just needed to let it all out.
Y/N—Listen, this is my fault. I wasn't thinking straight, and I just had a lot on my mind. I wasn't focusing on the road, and I just flipped...literally.
Charles- But you where think about what I had told you, y/n this is my fault and I am sorry.
Y/n- Listen, if you want to take the blame, you do you, but I was driving the car, so you have no reason to feel guilty; now I need you to go and get me my outfit for tonight, then you go and get ready and go to the venue to see that everything is ready, also call kika for me and tell her to come here as soon as possible.
Charles- OK, I will make it up to you.
He kissed me on my hand, and he left my room.
A few hours passed, and my mother gave me my medication. Kika arrived with all my stuff to prepare me for the rehearsal dinner. I took a shower in the bathroom attached to my room then. While I started doing my makeup, kika started doing my hair. She was already dressed and ready, so she was helping me out. After a lot of color correction and a shit tone of makeup, I was done; I quickly got dressed and accessorized, packed up all of my stuff, and walked out of the hospital looking as good as I could.
