«No. Fucking. Way.» my jaw drops.
«It's true.» Miguel nods, confirming Eli's words.
«That's why his eyes seemed so familiar.» I think back to that moment in Moon's backyard when he glared at me. «Wait, so you're telling me Johnny has a son, Robin?»
«Robby.» Eli corrects.
«And he's Mr. Larusso's student, his daughter's boyfriend and a Miyagi do? How come?»
«Their relationship is not the best.» Hawk shrugs and I nod, I'd know about it, I don't even know where my dad is right now nor do I care.
We turn at the corner of the street and the coffee shop appears before us.
«Okay, this is my stop.» I turn around to face them. «Thanks for coming with me, see you later.» I wave.
«Bye Lorz», «Bye Lory.»
I enter the cafe, hearing the soft jingle of the door to which Steven, who was already there, turns to look at the entrance. He smiles as he recognizes me and I call out a quick hello before heading straight to the staff room to change into my uniform.
I still can't wrap my head around the fact that Johnny has a son. Don't get me wrong, I'm starting to really like the guy, he has given me a chance, been patient with me when most people would've given up and he's by far the coolest and most badass dude I've ever known. But that's exactly what would make him a bad parent, the live-in-the-moment lifestyle and strike-hard mantra doesn't exactly give a "responsible parent" vibes.
My thoughts travel back to when I used to have a dad when I didn't have to wear petty uniforms and work shifts to pay rent. But surprisingly, I don't miss him at all. I don't think Mom or Tory miss him either, we just got used to his absence, it was hard at first, especially for my mom. But when someone purposely walks out of your life, what is there to miss?
I shrugged off all other dark thoughts that started to creep into my head and walked out of the staff room ready to face another afternoon.

«Here's your iced Americano to go. And... Your change.» I hand the cup and money to the client.
«Oh thank you sweetheart.» she smiles at me, and I can't help but return the nice gesture.
«Have a nice day.» I call out as she leaves.
I sigh and lean against the counter, enjoying the silence of the now empty place.
«oh, how I love afternoon shifts.» Steven moans, sending a pile of empty trays to get washed.
I chuckle. «too bad you're up tomorrow for breakfast.»
«don't remind me.» he wrinkles his nose.
Just then we hear the familiar jingle announcing that a new client has entered, I make a move for the cash register but Steven stops me saying he would handle it and I should take my break.
Well, I'm not gonna say no to that.
I grab a crescent and bawl of hazelnuts and sit at one of the tables, pulling my phone to check on my DM's.
Aisha: wanna go shopping later?? I need clothes for the start of classes tomorrow.
And before you say no let me bribe you with food, it's on me.
I totally forgot that we were going back to school tomorrow, I would have to find a night job to balance school and bills, I wonder what Tory found.
