My body swirled with only two main emotions.
Hatred and shock.
My shocked expression immediately hardens into a cold glare, boiling with hatred. I shoot a finger forward, pointing directly at her. "What is she doing here?!" I seethe, demanding an answer or explanation, from either Reiner or Bertholdt.
Annie entangles her arms together, "okay you two, even I have to admit this is outrageous." She adds.
Reiner throws a hand at me in the manner of a gesture. "You said you would help," he counters.
Annie whirls her body around so fast, I nearly catch a breeze. "Yeah, but that was before I knew who I'd have to 'test!'" She bellows.
"Oh come on, it can't be that bad." Reiner rolls his eyes at her.
"Um, yeah, except for the fact that we hate each other!" Annie exasperates.
I throw out a dry laugh, "yeah, that'll complicate things, I bet."
Reiner exhales a sigh, spreading his hands out as a gesture. "Look, you two need to seek past your differences and work together, for crying out loud."
The lips that form my mouth curl back as I breathe out a deep breath. "Fine," I growl, gazing intently at the blonde female across from me.
After I utter my answer, icy blue eyes shift to me. "Fine, I guess we can work this out." Annie huffs.
Bertholdt nods curtly, "good, let's not waste any time then." He orders, whipping around and heading in the adjacent direction of us.
The three of us look at each other, before following Bertholdt's footsteps. It wasn't long before we had caught up to Bertholdt within a mile's radius. A metal door slides open before him, permitting us all entry to whatever room it leads to.
A large vast room was what we found ourselves in. Reiner walks ahead of us, positioning himself next to Bertholdt, then he crosses his arms. "This is where we'll see if you can prove how good you say you are," Reiner states.
Casting a nod over to Annie, she and I situate ourselves into positions for fighting before beginning. Her leg swings out at me and I'm able to flip over it. Right after her leg, her fist launches at me, marking a shot of pain in my cheek.
My head whips back, eyes blazing with fire. I fly a fist into her lower abdomen, sending her back hurling over. Not wasting a single moment, my knee then follows by upper-cutting her jaw, reeling her face back.
Another fist lands on my other cheek, sending me over the edge.
My body hurls her down to the floor, pinning her and causing her to be vulnerable to my attacks. Raining attacks of my fists repeat, hurling at her face. Her fingers grab hold of my wrists, trying to switch us around so she can take advantage. One of my legs manages to sneak up past her barrier, striking her once more in the abdomen. I make sure to apply so much force, it sends her reeling off me.
I dash forward a little, thrusting my body forward across the floor, sending it to slide quickly at her. With a leg raised, I shoot my foot forward, once more kicking her back. I jump to my feet, ready to fight her more, when Reiner halts me.
"Alright, stop." He orders, and I find myself suddenly halting. I go over to a slumped Annie who's emitting heavy breaths. A hand of mine stretches out to her, offering help. Glowering at me, she slowly accepts it, allowing me to help her pull up.
"Thanks," she mutters.
We head back to the two young men, who are both wearing impressed expressions. "You do fight as good as you say, I'm impressed," Reiner states.
