Y/N's POV:

I felt a tapping on my shoulder, waking me up. I reluctantly and slowly opened my eyes, feeling my newfound awakened state wash through my tired body.

As my vision quickly cleared up, I saw someone bending down in front of the bench, their face right in front of mine.

As it registered to me that someone was there, I quickly shot up into a sitting position and shrunk back away from them as much as I could.

The smile they previously had faded into a worried and somewhat guilty expression, they spoke in a soft but very apologetic tone.

"Ohh my gosh I am so so so sorry! I didn't realize how much that would scare you! Are you okay?" The demon quickly said, putting their hands over their chest in a regretful way.

It was just a few seconds after they spoke that I realized who it was...

"Wait.. Charlie Morningstar!?" I basically screamed.

Her smile returned, but only slightly as she anxiously linked her hands behind her back and spoke again.

"...Yep, that's me!" She said with a bit of an uneasy smile.

"Like..Princess of Hell?" I said, tilting my head, my eyes still widened out of the pure shock I felt.

"Yeah" She said with a, barely audible, nervous chuckle.

"Alright.." I said, looking around a bit before turning my attention back to her when she spoke again

"I.. Came to try and help you! I saw the tear stains on your face and all of those scars and bruises, I couldn't help but worry." She said, smiling softly.

I calmed down a bit, but I kept my guard up, I was still extremely vulnerable and I needed to be prepared.

"Okay... How do you plan to help?" I said, tilting my head slightly and raising an eyebrow.

"Well, I have this little.. concept that I'm working on. It's a hotel that.. rehabilitates sinners! It's called the Ha-"

"The Hazbin Hotel, I know, I know. I've heard about that." I said, interrupting her in the most respectful tone I could muster.

"Oh! So you have!.. Would you happen to be interested?" She said, still smiling brightly

"Not interested in the salvation bullshit, respect to that though. I'm a hell-born, don't think I can be saved" I said, sighing.

I did want to be saved, but I knew that it wasn't going to happen. I was born here in hell, there's no getting out of that.

"Oh. Well.. Sorry for wasting your time then, sir." She said, hanging her head low and beginning to walk away.

"Wait, wait" I said, she stopped in her tracks and turned back around to face me.

"Even though my damned ass can't be saved, I need a place to stay.. Do you think I could just.. Stay there? Just as a good place to sleep, a roof over my head?" I said, my voice slightly quieting down throughout the sentence.

Her face lit up and she walked back towards me, gently but excitedly grabbing my arm and pulling me off the bench and forward on the sidewalk "Yes, yes of course!" She squealed.

I struggled to keep up with her as she quickly dragged me along with her, she seemed so excited and I could almost laugh at it. I couldn't let my guard down, though.

It wasn't long before we were at the doors of this "Hazbin Hotel". The sign on top of the building stated it's name in big capital letters.

She turned to look at me before opening the doors.

"Okay, now, some of the people here can be a bit... interesting... and maybe a little rude. I'm sure you can handle that though, right?" She said, dropping my hand finally.

I nodded at her, still so tired and sad from the death of my family.. the only people I could ever trust...

She smiled back at me before opening the door and walking inside, I followed after her.

"Everyone.. this is..." She paused and turned her head slightly towards me to whisper in my ear.

"What's your name?" She whispered.

"Y/N" I whispered back, still expressionless, letting my eyelids hang half-closed.

"Y/N!" She announced to everyone, smiling brightly.

As everyone looked at us, some smiled, some looked indifferent about the whole thing.

Charlie spoke "That's Angel and Sir Pentious, our residents! Then there's our bartender, Husk, our housekeeper, Nifty, my girlfriend, Vaggie, and Alastor, he helps me run the hotel!" Charlie said, gesturing her hands to the people as she named them.

I waved to everyone with the small smile I could muster in that moment, most of them waved back, I assume just out of politeness.

I took a deep breath, looking back at Charlie. "So, where's my room?" I said with a polite smile.

"Oh, yes! Yes! Follow me!" She said, walking over to the stairs and quickly walking up them.

She walked down the slightly dim hallway with me in tow until we came to the door which I assumed was mine.

She looked at me with a smile "This is your room! You can decorate the door and the little space outside, you can decorate in there, there's really no rules against any of it, make yourself feel at home here, we want you to enjoy your stay!" Charlie explained as she reached into her pocket and handed me a key.

I gently took the key from her hand and unlocked the door to my room. Nodding to her as a thank you before walking inside and shutting the door.

I took a deep breath once the door clicked shut, looking around. The room was decorated very simply, a lot of darker colors, mixed with gold accents. I figured I'd get some decorations to make it my own within the next couple days.

I threw myself onto the bed, laying on my back. I winced as some of my scars rubbed against the sheets.

"I'll bandage them up tomorrow"  I thought as I let my eyes flutter shut.

I felt a sting in my nose and a lump in my throat as tears began to well up in my eyes, falling down my face and onto the sheets since I was laying on my back.

I let myself cry, soft noises escaping my throat with every breath I inhaled. I missed them so much.. I couldn't even believe they were gone, the only people I could ever trust, the people who made my existence bearable... They were gone.. There was no bringing them back.

I couldn't even accept it.. I wanted to do something, anything to bring them back, but I couldn't. That made me feel so fucking pathetic..

Lucifer's POV:

I was in my office, the red-tinted light from the sky pouring in through my window, revealing the tiny specks of dust that flew throughout the air.

I had just heard about a whole hell-born demon family that was killed during the extermination. I couldn't help but feel so bad for them.

"Sinners, I can understand why.. but hell-borns? They didn't do anything wrong, they were born down here, they didn't chose to end up here. I get that hell is overpopulated but goddamn.. this is cruel even for the exterminators" I muttered to myself as I paced the floor.

"At least one of them survived.. I wonder where he is now, I wonder if he's okay" I thought aloud  as I stopped pacing and sat back down at my desk, sighing tiredly.

"I should probably visit Charlie's hotel soon, I haven't been there in a while"
