Abhimanyu frowned at the silent house. That was quite strange to begin with. He saw Dev walking towards him with the cup of water and the frown increased. Where was Atharv, he was one who used to be the most excited one when someone came and he himself was not there. Something seems amiss.
"Atharv kaha hai" he asked Devansh taking the glass of water from his hand. Dev thought for a second as to what he can say.
"We fought but, app tension mat lo we will talk it out" Dev said in not so convincing tone but Abhimanyu let it go. He didn't want to come between them. Though it was for the first time he saw them fighting so badly to damage their mood but he knew they would not appreciate any other person between them and he even agreed to that so he let the matter go.
"Are you okay" he asked her and Dev just nodded his head welcoming an abrupt silence. That was where they were now. The people who can't stay a minute apart and keep their silence don't know what to do when they are together. Dev sighed turning back to leave, he knew he had to because at the moment he was not welcomed there. So he took the empty glass and walked towards the kitchen. Abhimanyu saw the way he went and shook his head for being such a failure. He had a chance to initiate a talk but he lost it because he didn't know what to talk about. When can he ever go back to his normal self but it seemed like a distant memory.
Dev on the other hand saw Atharv taking out some snacks and plating it.
"Gussa bhuj Gaya tera" he carefully asked him but sighed in distress when Atharv clearly ignored him. Dev shook his head at the realization that the silent treatment is on. Of course the Rawte genes in him would not be completely out of the window. All of them retorted in silence whenever they were upset and even when that's what even he does at that moment Dev was really hating the silent treatment.
"Atharv" he gently called him out still mindful of his mood. Dev sighed, he was behaving as if it was a bomb not his brother. But to his defence this was their first fight and he particularly had no knowledge in growling. It was never his department but maybe last year was teaching him all the basics of growling.
"I am sorry" Atharv mumbled after a few seconds of silence taking Dev by surprise. Atharv on the other hand was genuinely sorry, he realized he might be quite harsh in his words. The hurt of finding out that the father he always wanted to meet was the demon from his nightmares who have hurt his mother badly and the fact that everyone knew other than him somehow made him feel conscious. He was hurt and let it out on the first person he saw. That was the reason he goes into silence the moment something or someone upsets him. Because it was easier for him to deal with his own silence than hurting someone with his own words.
"You don't have to be bacha I was wrong and I should have been cautious about my acts and I am genuinely sorry about that" he earnestly apologized to Atharv who shook his head. He didn't like it when his brothers apologized.
"I was wrong Atharv and I have no shame in admitting it but what I am shameful is that I didn't realize that I hurt you for that I am sorry bacha" Atharv was about to respond when they heard their mother's voice from the hall and the discussion was put off for the moment.
They walked towards her and saw her talking something to Abhimanyu who was just nodding to what ever she said.
"Tu bhi agaya yeh sahi hai dono ka ghar ane ke baad bethe hi raho Aisa nahi ki Jake freshen up hojaye aur ake aaramse beth jaye" She chided both the eldest and then turned around to Atharv with a smile but it dimmed slightly when she saw his upset face. Abhimanyu too who saw his face looked at Dev cocking his brows who in return just shook his head.
"Kya baat hai bacha" Avantika tenderly asked him cupping his face. Atharv shook his head and tried to fake a smile which didn't effect Avantika as she knew well that he was just faking it. She looked at the other two and sighed but left the topic.
