Mika

1 Year later.

One year and a half have gone by since I got the job at Gloss Industries Inc. So much has happened in the last year. I asked Valentina to be my girlfriend and she said yes. I was so happy when we became official. Our relationship has gotten stronger over the last few months and I couldn't me more happy to have her in my life.

I told Valentina about my heart condition and to say the least she was heartbroken. At first she was mad that I didn't tell her but then she cried in my arms that night when I told her. I was shocked when I saw her burst into tears that night, I never saw Valentina so broken before and that made me feel guilty for keeping my heart condition so long from her. She's been by my side since then. After a few days I have told her she asked me to move in with her in her penthouse and I said yes. She said she would be more at ease if I was living with her so she could take care of me since my condition have worsen a bit.

She also admitted that she hired a private investigator and she apologised for interfering into my privacy but I wasn't mad, I fell even more in love with her because she actually cared about me.

We haven't said the "I love you's" to each other yet but we both know that we love each other very much.

I also told Sienna about my heart condition and she was just as heartbroken when I told her. Ever since then she kept a close eye on me and I was grateful for her because at anytime something could happen to me.

I was currently in my office feeling very dizzy all of a sudden, I grabbed my water bottle and drink some water before grabbing my phone and called Valentina. I know she's currently in a meeting but she told me I must call her if I didn't feel well and I know she will answer.

Not even a second later she answered her phone immediately. "Hi baby, is everything okay?" Came her worried voice over the phone.

"I'm sorry for disturbing you, but I'm really dizzy right now." I said and groaned at the pain that shoot through my head.

"Everyone the meeting is cancelled until then, sweetheart I'm on my way." She hung up and I leaned back against my chair and waited for her. Not even a minute later my office door burst open and Valentina and Sienna stormed into my office looking very worried.

"Baby you're very pale, how do you feel?" Valentina was by my side and hold my face in her hands.

"Very dizzy and nauseous." I groaned and she nodded.

"Sienna will you please cancel all my meetings for the rest of the week." Valentina said and Sienna nodded immediately.

"Of course Val, let me get right to it." Sienna walked out of my of my office to her desk and Valentina looked at me with soft eyes.

"Let's go home baby." She packed my things and help me stood up and held me by the waist and helped me to her car.

After we got home she helped me change into my pyjamas since my body is too weak to do anything at the moment. She climbed into bed with me and hold me in her arms until I finally fell asleep.

I woke up from my phone ringing in the middle of the night. Groaning I reach out to take my phone on my nightstand. Taking a look who's calling me.

Incoming call from Dr. Ricardo.

"Hello." I said closing my eyes.

"Ms. Levine I got great news, the mother gave her consent to give her son's heart to you." I immediately sat up on the bed.

"Wait are you serious?" I asked still shocked.

Seven months ago I lost hope from getting a donor. The mother took very long to give us an answer about her son's heart. But now I have hope again.

"But Mika I have to tell you something." He said sounding a bit worried.

"What is it?" He heard him sigh.

"Since it took so long to find you a donor, your heart condition got worse, so there might be a possibility that you won't make it during the operation." My heart sank to my stomach when I heard him say that.

"So you're telling me I might die." My voice cracking.

"Yes, I'm sorry Mika but it's a fifty chance you could make it." He said softly. I sighed and run my hand through my hair.

"What date is the operation?" I asked.

"Next week Monday, as soon as possible." He said softly.

"Thanks doc I'll be there." He hummed.

"Take care Mika, until then." I hung up the phone and lay back on my bed.

Great now I could die and not make the operation or I could.

But before I go to get the operation I will have to confess to Valentina since there is a chance I might never be able to tell her.

"Baby who was that?" She asked, her voice groggy. I sighed and cuddled into her.

"It was Dr. Ricardo." At the mention of his name she was wide awake.

"What did he say?" She asked worriedly.

"He said the mother gave her consent and the operation will be next week Monday." I said softly and I heard her take a deep breath.

"What else?" I know I can't hide anything from her anymore so I told her.

"He said there might be a fifty percent chance that I might not make it." I choked back a sob and she hold me tightly in her arms.

"Mika whatever happens, I love you so much sweetheart." She kissed my forehead and I burst into tears when she said that.

"I love you too." I sobbed out and buried my face in her neck and she whispered soothingly in my ear that everything was going to be okay.

After I cried all my tears out we lay in silence my mind racing with thoughts.

I might die.
