Artemis Fowl: A New Path

Chapter 10

Huffing after the run the four made it to the cage meant for the green monster, who was luckily calmed down now and back to his normal peachy self.

The cage was half broken, on the other side by the wall was agent Colson, slumped on the wall.

Artemis didn't go closer because he knew that the man was gone.

As the others went to go check, Butler stayed by Artemis who was going through some flashbacks of the last dead body he saw.

"Artemis, lets go into the break room and make some tea" Butler tried to convince, "coffee is what I want Butler, coffee will keep me going today." Together they walked to the break room where Tony was talking with Fury, more like arguing honestly.

"Colson is dead and your not thinking anything of it! Your just ok with one of your main men dying for this cause!"

"Stark there is no time for this, do I want to be sad ya, do I want to call his family and comfort them, of course. We are in the middle of something big though and on the edge of a war breaking out! I don't have time to call his family, I don't have time to remember all the good things we did together the past five- six years we worked with one another. Someone has to lead us someone has to think less about emotions and more about facts here!"

The two gazed at each other both were fighting for what they thought was right, but Artemis could see this going no where. "Whats done is done, everyone lives and everyone dies. We have to focus on what the main issue is, what caused his death or better yet who....and from there we can..." Artemis thought for a second of what to say "We can Avenge his death, by taking care of this. I know im always one for revenge." He said with a cold smile.

By this time the rest of the so called team was in the room all sitting or standing around, thinking of everything the past hour or two brought.

"Well avenge him" Steve said quietly  " We wont think about all the small stuff happening right now, we wont change anything...but we will avenge the ones who got taken down by Loki's staff and well do that today!"

"Great, brilliant idea Sherlock but where do we even find him?" Tony was walking around thinking.

"Well lucky you," Artemis started with a smirk on his face, " I happened to remember the main job while all of you scattered like chickens with your head cut off. I was able to enter Barton's mind earlier and no dont give me that look its not the same as Loki, but I found where we have to go. Lets head out for this ugly building called Stark Building? Its in NYC."

"Hey mini mind,  that's my building and it's awesome not ugly ok, Im going to fly there in my suit. After all no one takes residents at my building without a background check." 

Tony left the others to get suited up while he flew to the location.

Butler and Artemis were walking down the hallway to a room, "as you know Butler I took a peek into Barton's mind. Though my main focus was Loki I also took the opportunity to go a little deeper." Butler grunted, "you know I happened to come across something interesting. It was a case on my father, who was in Russia on the Fowl Star ship and then another thing. A fairy named Koboi."

Butler sighed "Artemis... are you sure you think...Koboi has something to do with your father missing? Is that a lead or just random knowledge after all you did go into his mind looking for something else."

"Your correct, however I remember talking to Holly when we held her, she mentioned a Koboi. I think its time we get back in touch with a certain fairy ... dont you."
