Chapter Nine

BOOM!!!

A explosion had the team moving fast though for many not fast enough, the explosion happened  on the side the aircraft making the thing go more to the left. "Damn it whats going on here!" Screamed a very pissed off Tony, BOOOM BOOM!!! More smaller explosions fallowed the first one creating a hole in the wall and another causing the floor to collapse. Butler was holding Artemis in one arm while the other held onto a gun ready for anything. Once the smoke cleared in came a hypnotized Hawk-eye his eyes the same color as the strand connecting to Loki. 

Artemis took out a pen and unscrewed it quickly, this was another of his designs and went hand and hand with the glasses. It could cut through links, though looking like a simple pen when unscrewed it became a green laser. Working quick to find the right link Artemis cut the one he found going to Loki's cell. The archer flinched his eyes blinked a few times then the blue eyes turned into honey brown. He dropped his bow and clutched his head as memories of what he did when under control of the madman came back to him. 

The read haired assassin went to his aid, 'Black Widow' Artemis's brain supplied as he watched the two have a almost tearful reunion. That is till the ground collapsed under them. 

Butler still clutching Artemis took the fall damage for the two, slowly he got up and shook off the small pieces of stone. "Well that didn't go as planned now did it, at least not our plan, Butler my old friend I knew I should have used the mind reading helmet on that man." Shaking his head Butler looked over to where Banner had fallen also, he didn't seem to be doing ok and was he turning...green? "Artemis look" Looking over the teen saw what caused Butler to get nervous. Banner was turning, into what the file had called "The Hulk" "We need to go now!" Getting out of Butler's arms Artemis took off down the hallway, they seemed to be the only ones currently in the area. Which in a way was good since no one else had to face Hulk, but then it was only those two who were in his way of what Hulk might think is freedom. 

As this was all going on the two assassins assessed one another, Natasha looked over seeing the hole the butler and small genius had been. "Were going to go see if we can fix whatever causing us to tip like this, see you soon red!" Tony called over his back at the two, he and Steve went running/flying to the source. 

Back with Butler and Artemis who were currently running as fast as either could, however the green creature was still not far behind them. "This ...This was the plan Butler....  Loki set this up he had to of.... He is probably trying to escape!" Artemis was saying as he panted trying to keep up with Butler's fast pace. Using his watch Artemis called up the director to give him a heads up on what the main objective was, Loki's escape. 

They ran and ran till the two assassins came face to face with the Hulk who had been going in the opposite direction. Nodding at one another they both got ready to fight him. 

'Well I guess this is as good as any to try another product' Artemis thought as he quickly got a helmet out. This one he had gotten from the fairy who they captured some time ago and was the main player in him getting his gold. Putting it on Artemis had Butler pick him up so he could watch the green creature who was tailing them. With his eyes closed Artemis pictured soothing music, specifically ones his mother would sing to him before he went to bed. (Picture the song is if I could by Barbra Streisand) 

Natasha noticed the Hulk starting to turn a normal color, he started getting smaller and smaller till Banner stood right in front of them holding up his purple pants. "What...What was that, who was singing?" The man asked in a confused voice. 

Artemis and Butler turned around having stoped running after they noticed the music had worked. "That mr Banner was a little device I had come up with some time ago, seemed to help you a lot too." Said Artemis as the two walked over to the group of three all looking over in confusion. "Basically its just something that would sooth a person, for you it soothed that creatures rage making you come back to us." Artemis summed it up not giving much detail in how the machine had worked or even giving its other qualities. No he didn't want to give them any ideas on what they could do with his inventions, they were for him and him alone to work with. 

The aircraft started to go right way up and soon the tilt to the left shifted to a level ground. "Seems like Stark is good for something" Natasha still wanted to know more about that helmet which she assumed was the source of the lads power. However they had more pressing matters to get to "As you probably have been informed this was just a distraction, the real thing going on here is an escape." That was how the five found themselves going to Loki's holding area, which originally was made for that green creature.
