Chapter 8

The team was currently split in two, some wanting to know more of the kid who suddenly appeared and some who just wanted to do the work and go home. It was pretty even unless you counted Thor who just didn't care and wanted to see his brother. Bruce was looking into how the staff they had taken from Loki frowning in thought as he wrote notes every now and then in a tiny note book.

Steve was leaning on a counter thinking of strategies and also not really liking how easy it was to get the supposed god onto the flying machine. His mind kept drifting from those two things to the new things around him. He couldn't stop getting over the changes around him, not just the technology but also the people. How there was no longer a Howard Stark but instead a Anthony (Tony) Stark, no more Peggy and no more Bucky. Shaking his head he tried getting back to the matter at hand.

Natasha was talking with Tony on stuff they knew of the kid, neither liked him being here. Natasha because she was paranoid and Tony because the kid brought up some emotions he had wanted to burry.

"Ugh I give up!" Tony said slumping in a fake defeat onto the table, his hands clenched and unclenching. Everyone looked at the dramatic man many rolling their eyes. "What now Stark?" Steve said without even looking up at him. "Is anyone else going to question why the kid is here? I mean we see him maybe for five minutes for him to give us a little glimpse of him and who he is and then nothing. Ive hacked the SHIELD computers at home to try and figure out who he was, and did try again while here." "YOU WHAT!?" Exclaimed Steve and Bruce who really just wanted to go home before he started having a green problem. "And what do I find nothing! At first I found a folder labeled Mudboy but its all encrypted to a T. Even I can't undo it to the point of understanding it."

Steve raised a hand to his hair sighing, "Tony I don't want to really know the child, I mean yes I'm curious but I've only seen him maybe twice three time at most. He's done nothing to help us or harm us, I don't like it but I'm not really bothered by him being here." Tony huffed "Yah well, you didn't just find out you had a relative did you!" Everyone just looked at Tony, "So you do know this Angeline Young?" Natasha asked, "Im surprised its not in my file to be honest, but yes she is my cousin. I haven't seen her in years though I think about thirteen or so, so I honestly didn't know she had a kid. I knew she had gotten married and well moved in with this rich guy who to me was shady as hell!" Tony was getting off track he couldn't really think straight, each time he closed his eyes he saw the young boy who had his others eyes, his cousins eyes.

"As amusing as it is to see your so called team try to figure out whats up and down, I think its time we get back to the main objective." The voice made them all turn around seeing the child of discussion and the giant body guard. As the team looked at the two they couldn't help see how small Artemis was to just them but also to the man who walked next to him. "Oh and how can we do that?" Tony said casually walking over to Bruce zapping him with a little shock, "What the heck Stark!" Steve's voice held anger as his eyes turned into steal, "are you trying to get us all killed!? "Now now Rogers I just wanted to see how Brucy here kept his cool. I can't be the only one who's wanted to know how he's been doing that"

Artemis though not finding the link he originally wanted he had found one of use, the link to agent Barton. This was useful though he wanted the agent to be closer when he snapped the link. It was a blue link holding a old mist around it, this he supposed was the corruption keeping the man bound to Loki. "Let's go Butler, I think its best to get back to the others and explain what we found. Maybe they can bring in the agent." Butler just huffed his agreement and fallowed closely to his young master. Taking off the glasses and quickly putting them back Artemis found it easy to find the others as Stark was off complaining about him. "You would think that Stark would just ask for information. I mean yah I might not give him everything, but he is related to me and does deserve to know what happened to mother....right?"

Butler sighed and looked down at Artemis, he felt for the boy he really did after all he's protected  him his whole life as has all Butler's for the Fowl's. "If you feel it is right to tell him then yes. However Artemis, do not go in thinking it will change something. Just cause he now knows you exist doesn't mean he wants anything to do with you....I I just don't want you getting your hopes up to have him leave once this is over." Closing his eyes Artemis could easily see what his old friend meant, however that didn't stop the childish wish, the wish to have someone to take care of him. After his father went missing it has always been Artemis taking care of things, lately it has gotten hard for him to just wake up in the morning knowing that no one really wanted him. Yes he had his butlers, but they have been with his family for generations and by now it was more of a duty than free will that lead the two working together. Squashing that feeling down Artemis walked into the lab where he found the rest of the supposed team talking.
