Y/N POV

~~~~~~~~
You know, when I first met the supposedly evil 'Bad Sanses', I didn't think that I would be stuck in a prison with them, being held captive so someone can take my soul. But I guess life has a way of surprising you, because that's exactly where I am now. Sitting in a cold, dark basement, with limited food, water, and a single bed with the Bad Sanses.
It's not really a prison, to be honest. We can leave the basement and wander around this small, abandoned town called Starlight Springs. I used to call it home, until Shattered came and wiped everyone out, except me, I guess. But we can't leave the town. I don't know how he did it, but somehow, our captive- Shattered- put a magical barrier around the town, keeping us from leaving. We don't know exactly what it does, but it's extremely thick, and it makes anyone who crosses it nauseous. We aren't sure how it affects Shattered, his minions, and the other few staff members that work for him, if it affects them at all, but it certainly takes a toll on us. We've tried several times to get out, but it doesn't work. It's so thick that, even if you tried to push past the few waves of nausea and that feeling that makes the world feel like it's exploding, there's no way any of us could make it past the electric shock that basically paralyzes us.
There's five of us. Killer, Dust, Nightmare, Horror, and me. There used to be six. Cross was one of us until Shattered brainwashed him and filled him to the brim with so much toxic positivity that Cross is nothing more than a loyal, mindless lapdog for Shattered. It devastated us at first, but now we think that, if we can get out of here, we could save him. He doesn't even seem to remember us. He hardly talks to us when he's put on guard duty; none of the guards really talk to us, except Ink, who- according to Killer- used to be a good guy until Shattered replaced the magical vials he uses to feel things with negative ones. Ink is soulless, which means he can't feel emotions naturally, so he drinks paint to do so. However, that's dangerous. Shattered destroyed his old vials and gave him new ones, which are only negative feelings. He usually curses at us or doesn't say a word, and Nightmare managed to learn what feelings the vials give: apathy, hate, fear, greed, and anger. Usually, he shows up either pissed or blank, so we guess he uses the apathy and anger vials a lot. It kind of hurts to see him like that, even though I didn't know him, but the Bad Sanses really don't care about him.
Nightmare's the leader of the Bad Sanses, except he can't really lead them when he's in such a weakened condition. I don't know how it happened- when I got stuck in here with them, Nightmare was already subdued, and the others won't tell me what happened- but Shattered somehow overpowered him. From what I've learned, Nightmare's weakened by positivity, and while Shattered thrives off of negativity, like Nightmare does, he still can grow strong from positivity, and that must've been how he overpowered Nightmare. I tried to help Nightmare grow stronger, and I almost managed to do it- mostly because Dust was making me feel miserable, and Nightmare was feeding off of my negativity- but then Shattered came back and put a stop to that. Nightmare's really smart, and when he can, he focuses on making a plan to get us out of here. He sends us up to try to learn more about that barrier and if there's a way to get past it. So far, we've had no luck, but we're learning more and more. Unfortunately, I think Shattered is catching on.
Dust is the one member of the Bad Sanses that I can't understand. I know most things about everyone else- even Shattered's minions- but I Dust is a closed book, locked with a padlock and shoved into a vault. He won't talk about himself at all, and despite my attempts at being friendly with him, he still won't trust me, even if I've known the group for a while, and I'm obviously not a threat. Killer says it's because I'm a human, though he won't tell me what Dust has against humans or why. Dust is super snarky and usually has a pessimistic remark for every little thing. If one of the guards brings less food than usual, he assumes we'll starve. If one of us gets hurt, he thinks we'll die. If we get even a little closer to escaping, he thinks the plan will fail. It keeps Nightmare going, though. His anger and his semi-psychopathic violence towards the guards strengthens Nightmare even slightly, even if it's a little terrifying. Sometimes I wonder if he's so mean to us so Nightmare can grow stronger.
